Jules Catering

( 4.0 / 5.0 )
I used Jules Catering for a plated dinner for my wedding in Boston. They ended up delivering a fantastic meal and set up that people still comment on to me to this day (how many weddings do you remember the food from?). They were accommodating for a new space that wasn't exactly caterer friendly, and overall the manager had a very professional and positive attitude when interacting with me. I initially had trouble with my sales rep, though. I asked for an estimate will all costs at least roughly blocked out, but the estimate didn't include enough for labor and rentals, so my contract increased significantly. Just make sure you understand what all is going to go into the contract that may still be marked "TBD". Definitely consider their services. They also do corporate and lunch catering, so it's easy to get a feel for what their flavors are like. My wedding was a great success thanks to them.

George's Island - Boston Harbor Island

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
My wedding was on a Sunday, so our rehearsal dinner was on a Saturday. This meant huge buy-out costs for most Boston restaurants, but my mom-in-law ended up finding out that there is catering and special events done out on George's Island in Boston Harbor. George Silva of Silva Platters put together a great charter boat, clambake, recreational activities, and even canolies from Mike's Pastry for the boat ride back to Boston. For most of our out-of-town guests that we invited, it was the quintessential New England experience.

Bridal Expo

( 1.0 / 5.0 )
I do not recommend bridal shows in general, but certainly not the Bridal Expo. It is hugely disorganized, vendors are mixed without logic, and there is no sound limitations, so I had a very difficult time hearing any of the vendors speak that I was actually interested by. Waste of time and money.

erin curran photography

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
Erin Curran gave my husband and I the best photos we could have hoped for. She also accommodated some pretty outrageous requests (like pulling the permit to hop on the MBTA and photograph the bride, groom, and wedding party all taking the subway all decked out!) Her presence was always unobtrusive, and she got some really creative vantage points and combinations on the day. I have recommended and will recommend her a thousand times over!
