Faces By Mel
Mel did a very good job on my bridesmaids, mom, and me. She is very reasonably priced as well.

We were forced to use them because they were part of a package deal with my venue. We found them to be overpriced. My mother and I didn't really like the consultant either, but the cake turned out beautifully and tasted great!

I recently had my wedding here. We signed the contract back in February and were very worried about them being completed in time. My mom was so worried that she almost tried to drop them. I was confident though that they would finish by my date and I'm glad I convinced her to hold out. We really liked Heather Love too. She made sure everything turned out perfect for me, and ran smoothly. I never had any problems with her like the other reviewer did. She was always friendly and was not high pressure like other coordinators we spoke with at other venues. My wedding turned out beautifully, and our friends and family have been talking about it for weeks. The only issue we had was with the security. The security guard and the hired policeman at our wedding were both ridiculous. As I drove up in the morning to park my car in front like Heather told me to do, the security guard proceeded to run up to my car, telling me that I needed to move. Heather just happened to be there to tell him that "that's the bride!" After, he apologized. He needs to calm down and be more respectful of people pulling up, these are their clients after all. Also, the officer we were required to have because we served alcohol ended up giving a bridesmaid's boyfriend a ticket! All he was doing was picking her up at the front while she was bringing a bunch of stuff out. Hello, it's a wedding, at the end we need to clean up and take it out! They gave him a ticket for blocking the entrance! It's not like he was some slobbering drunk, which is the reason the cop was hired! My other complaint is that the security guard allowed the people from the wedding after mine to come in when my family was still cleaning up (my wedding was from 12-4). We had until 5 to clean up and get out and these people started coming in at 4:15. These other people should not have been allowed to come start bringing things in. Their stuff started getting mixed up with mine! Not to mention that the mother of the bride was being a total bi*** to my people, telling them they need to clear things out of the way! Also, the wedding after mine was for a coordinator (Erin) who works to Bella Terazza (the Tuscany's sister location). If I was her, I would expect my family to act appropriately since that is the company I work for. So, all in all, I thought Heather was wonderful, but something needs to be done about the crappy security guard.

I went here because they were the most reasonably priced on bridesmaids dresses I could find. The best way to use them is to check out their website and find what dresses you want to look at. Then, go to the store and have them pull them to show you. I liked that we didn't have to set up an appointment like some other stores. They only have sample sizes, so my girls tried on the dresses, I chose the one I liked and then chose what color I wanted it in based off the manufacturer's color chart. 2 of my bridesmaids out of the 4 had to have the dress altered. So, the salesman was pretty good at finding the correct size for them. The dresses turned out beautifully though, everyone loved them!

I chose this DJ service because they were the least expensive I found. Big mistake! I specifically wrote on their paperwork not to take requests, and provided them with a long list of songs to play that my fiance, mom, & myself came up with. He ended up taking several requests of songs I didn't want to hear. Also, he couldn't get the timing right for the ceremony. First, it took a long time for him to start the music for our singers, and then once we were married, we were just standing up there awkwardly waiting until the recessional music started until we walked back down the aisle. It seems like an eternity up there when everyone's is staring at you! Finally, we quit waiting and just went. The music didn't start until we were halfway down the aisle! I recommend paying the extra money for someone you know is going to be good. The music is important.

This place totally annoyed me! I picked up their information and several other bridal stores at the Bridal Extravaganza. My mom and I went shopping all over Houston and found the dress I liked. It was a Mori Lee dress which was carried at Anna's, Ventura's, & Bridal Depot. Anna's had it the least expensive. I asked both Ventura's and Bridal Depot if they'd match Anna's price. The guy at Bridal Depot said he would, and would also let me use the coupon that I picked up at the Bridal Extravaganza. We said we'd think about it since I wanted to look around some more. About a month later, I decided I wanted that Moro Lee dress. We went back to Bridal Depot to order it and the guy did not remember our conversation. He agreed to give the price at Anna's, but wouldn't give the extra coupon discount. Instead, he said he'd give a discount on a veil or tiara. Once my dress came in, we ordered the veil. It was supposed to come in within two weeks. I waited over three weeks to hear from Bridal Depot until my mom finally called to see the status of the order. He said the veil had been discontinued. Couldn't he have let us know?? So, I went back to pick a different one out, of course not really finding one I liked as much. So I placed another order, and they told me it will be in in a week. Of course a week goes by and I don't hear from them. So, I give them a call and they tell me that they received the wrong veil! The overnighted the correct veil and finally called me when it came in! My other problem here was with the alteration person they use. She told me my dress would be ready on Saturday morning, the weekend before my wedding. She has to take in the top, hem it, put the bustle in, repair the clasp at the top that was broken, and steam it. I went to pick it up, and the bustle was still not done and it was super wrinkled. I tried it on and it fit perfect though. She told me to come back Wednesday, and it was finally complete. I looked it over, but did not try it back on until I was getting ready on my wedding day. This is the time that I found out the clasp had not been fixed and my zipper kept coming undone! So, I had to be sewn into my dress on my wedding day! Made for some interesting pictures of us getting ready!

I registered with Target and wish I hadn't. I didn't really find anything that I really liked here, they were just better for my guests on a budget I guess. Plus, I had a lot of problems with editing my registry online. Somehow, I ended up with two registries and every time I'd login, it would take me to an empty one. It was a big headache to sort that out. They were also the biggest pain when it came it returns.

I got cardstock here to make menus for each person's seat. Also, got lots of candles and a few vases for the candy buffet. They have stuff on sale every week and also 40% off printable coupons on their website. We saved a lot of money by doing things ourselves.

We decided to do our centerpieces ourselves. We ordered from Pike's Peak our vases and flowers. If you pay for it all on a Wednesday, you'll receive a 20% discount on certain items. The centerpieces turned out beautifully. We picked up some ribbon for pew bows and some bouquet jewelry from here. We were also able to meet up with our florist here to pick out what colors and types of flowers I wanted for the bridal party.
