Events by Kristin
Kristin was our DOC, and she was fantastic to work with from beginning to end. She is extremely organized, and has an amazing way of making you feel at ease about the million and one details you're trying to coordinate for your wedding day. As awesome as she was before the wedding, she topped herself on the day itself. Everything went so smoothly - even though we knew that little disasters were popping up left and right, she kept everything running exactly as planned. (In hindsight, our only regret is not hiring her as a wedding planner too!)

Huckleberry Karen Designs
Karen is my superhero. She wears a cape of beautiful flowers, and reads my mind when I make vague comments like "I like the dark red against the white dress." In all seriousness, I was clueless about flowers. I gave her little to no direction, and just said I wanted to keep the budget low. She kept the budget low, created beautiful bouquets, centerpieces, and an arch for the ceremony, and everyone raved about the gorgeous flowers. (Me being at the top of the raving list.) Point made. She is a superhero.

Rev. Tim basically told us he had the ceremony down to a science. He explained the elements of a great wedding, and said he knew how to pull them altogether. This sounded a little egotistical at the time, but something made us believe him. He was right. He does have it down to a science. Most, if not all, of our guests commented to me or DH at some point in the evening that it was the best wedding ceremony they'd been to. Well worth the money.

Alex's catered our friends' wedding in Napa, and we were so impressed with the food and the five-star wedding that we never even considered Alex's when we started looking for a caterer - we just assumed it would be way out of our price range. After shopping around and finally asking our friends about the cost, we were amazed at how much cheaper Alex's was as compared to most of the caterers we considered. All of our guests RAVED about the food - it was every bit as delicious as it was at our tastings. Almost equally important was the grace and composure with which they handled the totally anal obsessive-compulsive bride (who really never surfaced until about 2 days before the wedding) - I personally selected certain wines & magnums of wine for certain tables, and Alex's got all the right wine to the right tables. Most importantly, however, one of the saint waitress who made a point of hunting me and DH with apps at numerous points during the cocktail hour. That alone was worth everything we spent. Highly recommended.

We also worked with Michelle, but didn't have the same stellar experience. She was very slow in responding to emails, and the nail in the coffin was when she left a cryptic message 2 days before the wedding saying she needed to talk to us about the cake. As it turned out, she had screwed up the math on the final invoice, and wrote down an amount that was $27 less than what we actually owed her. I would have paid to beat the crap out of her that day for the heart attack she gave me... Service aside, the cakes are very tasty and reasonably priced. The tasting alone is worth it - they give you several mini-cakes to try.
