Augie Chang Photography
Augie was an awesome photographer. We liked him immediately when we met him. He takes beautiful but creative pictures, and made us look better than either of us thought we could! He was also really fun to be around, both during our engagement session and during our wedding day. Not the cheapest photographer out there, but worth every penny - he is fabulous. We love our wedding pictures. We would recommend Augie to anyone.

We hired Kelly when we met her at our tasting. We immediately liked her cakes and liked her. We thought her cakes were great -- delicious but not too sweet or rich. And awesome flavors, like chocolate salted caramel! Also, she was warm, friendly, and really creative. When we met with Kelly, she didnt hand us a cake catalog or price list. Instead, she asked us about what elements we had picked for our wedding so far and about what types of things we liked. We showed her pictures and color swatches, told her some things we didn't want (big giant complicated wedding cake) and she started coming up with ideas. We also had some non-traditional elements to our wedding, including orange and yellow claymation-type of creatures as cake toppers, and Kelly was just fine with that. Kelly ultimately suggested a theme of different single-layer cakes that could be placed on different-height tiers, each with different designs and colors (based on our flowers, linens and centerpieces) that all matched thematically. For a cake table "centerpiece," she came up with the idea of a two-tiered cake lantern that was modeled after the small moroccan lanterns we had on each of our tables. The cake table looked beautiful and we got lots of compliments from our wedding guests. While we are very picky about food and wine, wedding cake was not something I wanted to blow the budget on. Inticing Creations was perfect Kelly was great to work with, reasonably priced, and our cakes were beautiful, delicious, and unique. We would recommend her to anyone.

Mercurio Brothers did a great job printing our invitations. My fiance designed our invitations and we had a very specific idea about how we wanted them to appear, from the font to the color to a "fade" effect. Mercurio Brothers was great. When we brought our file in, they spent a lot of time talking to us about what was and what was not doable on letterpress and why. On the day they were printing our invitations, they called us and asked if we wanted to do one final check because they thought we might not like how something was coming out (not through any fault of their own, but again because we wanted one part of the card lighter than the other). We did come do a final check, and were glad we did - they made some final adjustments and the invitations came out beautifully. Like everyone else has said, if you want letterpress and have some of your own design ideas, this is the way to go. They certainly pay a lot of attention to detail.

Fleur De Vie, Exotic Floral Designs & Invitations
We loved working with Talin at Fleur de Vie. Talins designs are creative and beautiful, and shes a really nice person. Talin is also extremely flexible and affordable. We went semi-DIY on our flowers - my mother made the bouquets and did the arrangements for the table centerpieces. Talin did our ceremony arrangements, boutinneres, corsages, a pomander for our flower girl, and a couple of buffet arrangements. Unlike other florists, I got no attitude from Talin about having a relatively small order (some florists wouldnt work with me because of their minimum orders). Talin was enthusiastic throughout the process. My original plan was to have Talin purchase the flowers that my mother was going to be working with, and Talin encouraged us to buy the flowers ourselves so that we could save money on them, which we did. On the day of the wedding, I barely saw Talin but later learned that she had gone above and beyond just setting up the few (gorgeous) arrangements she had made. She did all sorts of little things like pin down fabric that was blowing in the wind, and she was awesome at keeping my mom calm. I would recommend Talin to anyone.

Ann Walker Catering
Months after our wedding (we got married in September), we still get raves about our food! Food was an extremely important element of the wedding for us, and Ann was the perfect caterer. She and her son are great to work with and talk to, we had a great time meeting with them. Our food was fabulous in addition to passed appetizers, we had several different food stations, with different wine pairings at each station. We sort of came up with this idea while we were brainstorming, and Ann just ran with it. She was really enthusiastic about it and it got us really excited too. Our food was asian fusion. I am Chinese and I emphasized to every caterer I contacted that the food really needed to be asian fusion, otherwise my relatives were going to wonder why we didnt just have the reception at a Chinese restaurant. Unlike most of the other caterers I contacted, Ann really came up with creative food ideas, not just chinese chicken salad and steamed pork buns. And everything was delicious. Ann also emphasizes using local, seasonal, and fresh ingredients, something we really appreciate. She also was very helpful when we were picking wines. Ann also served as our day of coordinator at the Brazilian Room I was thinking of hiring one and she told me there was no need. She was right - everything went off without a hitch. I sent her contact information for our other vendors, we came up with a timeline, and she pretty much handled the rest. When we arrived at the venue, the cake topper was on the right cake (we had a cake table of single-tiered cakes), our centerpieces were arranged just as I wanted them (we had dropped those off earlier in the day but the tables hadnt been set up yet), and everyone knew where they were supposed to be. I would definitely recommend Ann Walker.
