I chose to visit David’s Bridal (Montclair, CA store) after viewing their styles online. They had several styles I liked for under $200. This was the first and only store I visited to try on dresses.
I made an appointment for a Saturday and went in with my 2 bridesmaids and my mom. We were assisted immediately. I had brought a printout of the dresses I liked, and the sales assistant (Arlett) picked out several of those from the racks. We also found dresses for my girls and my mom to try as well. After only a few dresses, I found The One. Even though it was strapless I had picked it out online because of the beautiful blue train. It was also under $200.
The sales assistant also helped me find a veil and headband to go with it (as well as underthings). My mom got lucky with her second dress, and my bridesmaids found styles they liked as well.
Even though it was a Saturday, it was not too crowded and I never felt rushed or unattended. The sales assistant was great and the entire process went much more smoothly than I imagined. Dress shopping can be tricky in general, and I expected wedding dress shopping to be the hardest of all. Pleasantly it wasn’t.
While my dress was almost a perfect fit, we did need to have a few minor alterations. We were able to take home the dress the day we picked it out, and came in for alterations about 3 months before the wedding. This process was also smooth, and Maria was very patient and made sure everything was done exactly right. When we picked up the dress about 2 months out, it was perfect.
I had read reviews before coming to David’s Bridal, and I had read some mediocre/bad ones—although I still decided to try them out. I’m happy as I did as my entire experience was smooth and painless and everyone who assisted me did a great job.

My husband chose Friar Tux for his suit rentals for 2 reasons—one, because of a disappointing experience at Men’s Wearhouse, and two (disclaimer)—because a friend of ours worked there.
Our friend JP worked at the Brea, CA store at the time, and he spent time with my husband—explaining the different options, letting my husband know what he needed and what would look best, helping him choose his groom’s suit as well as the colors and style for the groomsmen suits. My husband felt taken care of and appreciated and when it was done he was happy and confident in his choice.
The suits arrived two days before the wedding but my husband had to work late and couldn’t pick up his suit until the day before. When he got it, the vest was the wrong size. This was less than 24 hours before our wedding as we were getting married at 11am the following day. Friar Tux was able to exchange the vest and had it for my husband that evening—and everything worked out great.

When I called Pastor Norman, I immediately felt comfortable speaking to him. His prices are affordable, and he’ll be the first to tell you what you actually do and don’t need an officiant for (and therefore what you actually need to pay for).
One of the things that was important to us was to memorialize our deceased parents in the ceremony. When I mentioned this to Pastor Norman, he immediately provided several different options about how we could do this, and I loved that he clearly understood what it was we wanted.
He offers several different ceremony wordings/options, as well as ceremony extras (like Unity Candle or Red Rose ceremony). We chose non-secular wordings and a Wine Box ceremony.
He also told us how to get the marriage license. We ended up using the services of his wife, Reverend Carolyn, to have our marriage license and certified copies all taken care of by her (a licensed notary). We never had to take time off to go to the courthouse; we simply met up with Pastor Norman and Revered Carolyn on a weekend, they brought all the paperwork, and we signed it (and paid a small fee that was entirely worth it and much cheaper than taking time off work). I highly recommend doing it this way.
The actual ceremony was beautiful. Pastor Norman guided us through all the steps (what to say, where to look) so that we didn’t have to worry.
All in all, we were very happy with Pastor Norman, and with Reverend Carolyn, for their parts in our wedding!

When I called Swiss Park, the sales coordinator (Tricia) was very nice and helpful and gave me all the info I needed. Although the venue is close to the freeway, you don’t notice it at all. The surroundings are great—it’s along a road with basically nothing next to it. There are 2 rooms—a large ballroom (too big for our small wedding) and a smaller sunny room that they use for brunch. We chose the small room—the Alpine Room. It’s decorated with Swiss paraphernalia and it has character and felt cozy. We didn’t add any room décor at all (just centerpieces for the tables).
Although the cost ended up a little bit higher than I anticipated, we received discounts due to having a weekday morning ceremony.
Everything went great the day of the wedding; we had everything we needed all set up. The food was great, the room looked fantastic, and the cake was absolutely gorgeous and very delicious.
To sum up, I’m happy with how everything went—everyone at Swiss Park is very nice, patient, and excellent communicators! Tricia was awesome in how fast she responded to my many questions, as well as reassuring all of my concerns. We received generous discounts on the overall price due to the day/time, and everything they served was delicious! This is beautiful, affordable venue that I highly recommend.

My husband really wanted videography, but we didn’t want to spend a fortune on it. After calling around and reading reviews, we picked Joe at Today’s The Day due to his affordable prices, options offered, and our rapport. Although we never met before the day of the wedding, Joe was always quick to check-in and respond to emails and we worked out all the details that way. He offers a substantial discount if you pay your balance in cash, which is what we chose to do. We also opted to go with raw footage only (no editing package), and he said that we can always take our footage back to get edited later.
When we finally met the day of the wedding, he had gotten there early and was prepared and ready to go. He’s an unobtrusive filmmaker and we never noticed him getting in the way or getting in people’s faces. He’s able to get the shots he needs without you even realizing he’s there.
We provided Joe with an external hard drive so that he could give us our raw footage files, along with the DVDs. We received everything about 4 weeks after the wedding. The materials were packaged like rare museum pieces. It took me 10 minutes to carefully open everything up--he had packaged it that well! Due to the amazing packaging job, our external hard drive and DVDs were in perfect shape. The DVDs have our wedding pictures on the labels and are customized to us.
The raw footage came out well and he captured all of the key moments (including 2 different angles of our ceremony, despite only having one videographer). While it is raw and unedited, we're happy with the results, and I enjoyed being able to re-watch the wedding since everything went so fast the day of!
