My husband and I met our freshman year of college. We met because his roommate was old friends with my teammate. During the second week of college we hung out more and it just took off from there. We spent the next four years together or spent as much time together as we could. We were from different states and the breaks, holidays and summers were hard. During the fifth year he went to Canada for his masters. It was hard to be that far away from each other. After I finished my classes in Jan of 2007, I took almost a month long vacation to visit him in Canada. He proposed about 3 days after I had arrived there. I knew it was going to happen while I was there, but I never thought it would have happened so soon.

The next year and a half we spent planning our wedding. My older siblings all were married while I was in HS, so I had been imagining my day for a long time. Because of them I was also well informed for how much prep and planning went into a wedding. I come from a very crafty family and I knew that I would be making several elements for my wedding. These items include the wedding invitations, ceremony programs, 9 bouquets, 16 boutonnieres, 8 corsages, wedding favors, place cards, guest book, a picture collage, and thank you notes. Of course I couldn't have made everything on my own, I did have some help. With so many personal touches it really felt like no other wedding I had ever been too.

For our Honeymoon we went to an all-inclusive adults only resort in the Riviera Maya. We went during the resorts 'grand opening' period and got a great deal. It was great and we want to go back!

We are enjoying married life. It is hard to believe that we've been married over 4 months and together for over 6 years. We are looking forward to the future and the memories we will continue to make together.
