I met my wonderful fiance completely by accident but I have to say that it was without a doubt the best thing that ever happened to me. I used to think that it was so strange to hear someone say that someone else completes them but I don't feel that way any more! I could not imagine my life without him in it. He has brought so much happiness and peace to my life. I can honestly say that I would be lost without him.
After being together for years we decided that we should take the plunge and set a date for our wedding. There was no romantic proposal for us. Just a series of conversations that seemed to multiply and intensify as time went on. I have a thing for numbers and I always notice special dates and numbers and I guess that my oddity rubbed off on my fiance a bit because he called me on 10/11/12 and told me what a cool wedding date that would have been for us. I laughed and agreed with him and I couldn't help but tell him that 12/13/14 was going to be the last counting up date for awhile. He said that it was too far away and he liked 11/12/13. I said ok and here I am!
Our wedding date falls on a Tuesday and the day after a long holiday weekend. We are totally embracing the whole Tuesday wedding idea and trying to use that as a grounding agent in terms of our wedding. We are going to be choosing which traditional elements we want to include and removing others which we do not like. I think that it will be interesting to see just how traditional or offbeat our wedding actually is.
I pride myself on being a thrifty person and that is going to carry over to the wedding planning too. I know that weddings can be very expensive and it is a milestone in your life but I hope that I will be able to have a special wedding day and keep some money in the bank accounts. I think I am most excited about this part. I know that there are a lot of great ideas out there and I can't wait to find them!
