I read the other review on this site and I was nervous, but I had a very specific cake in mind, and only this vendor could make it. My initial experience through email was stressful, but when I met the baker/owner in person, I immediately liked her. Sometimes talented people are terrible at customer service, and after taste-testing the bakery, I knew I would get the flavor I was looking for. I was a very relaxed bride and I sensed that it was better not to have a clear vision with this vendor. There were a lot of communications and the design kept changing from what was originally discussed, which I think might be a big deterrent for some brides. Again, it was more flavor that mattered to me, so I went with it, and since I went with it, I can't fault the baker for that. One of the vendor's stores closed between my cake purchase and my wedding, and the reason I found out? I happened to drive by two days before my wedding to find it empty and closed with no note. When I called, I was told that the baker was out of town until after my wedding. When I explained my situation, I was given her personal number. After a very stressful call back, it was decided that the cake would be delivered to me, instead of my picking it up, given the situation. I tried not to be offended that I had been forgotten, and that the baker was more concerned with timely return of the cake stand I was borrowing. On my wedding day, my cake was damaged and looked hastily put together. It was probably the best tasting cake I've ever eaten, but I didn't save any, I was so disappointed. I asked my mother to return the cake stand the next day, as I'd promised and I've never been back to the bakery or spoken to the baker. It took me two months to write this review, because I've never written a negative review before. The cake was the only disappointment in an otherwise perfect wedding, and I thought about not sharing my story at all. But I think other brides should know.
