There was a miscommunication of expectations since the wedding planner was the go-between. After this issue was discovered (i.e. type of flowers that we requested and type that was communicated to Aunt B's), they worked with us to fix the issue after the wedding planner washed her hands of the issue.

Ryan is an amazing photographer. We found him through a Google search and enjoyed his online portfolio. My husband and I enjoyed getting to know him. He has a great deal of experience and is able to capture things in an amazing way. A huge rain storm happened on the day of our wedding so we were only able to capture a few family pictures outside before it got too bad. After we finished with the family settings inside, Ryan took us back outside and captured some amazing shots. We were very pleased and would recommend him for anyone looking for quality artistic photography!

They have a huge selection of dresses you "can't find anywhere else" Hopefully you don't mind paying $2000 for a dress made in China. I was very happy to find my dream dress. I was treated sweetly during the intial try-on period and the second look at my potential dress with my mother in law. They do have high pressure sales tactics and attempt to entice you with sales that will end shortly to get you to commit. The sweet sales tactic was dropped once I paid the deposit.

One week before the dress was supposed to arrive, I called the store to make sure everything was still on schedule. I got a phone call back after they checked the order only to be told they could not make my dress because the designer ran out of that particular lace. The owner apologized on the phone but was unable to explain how the order was placed months earlier and close to shipping yet they were saying it wouldn't happen. I was furious to say the least, especially since at that point they should have had the dress almost done. Long story short, my dress was amazingly there one week later. I was rushed through a try on, she immediately took the dress out of the dressing room the minute I took it off, and hurried me out of the store. When I got home I took a closer look at the dress. Some of the lace and sequins were falling off because they weren't sewn on tightly. The scalloped lace at the bottom of the dress was starting to unravel in places and there were long pieces of invisible thread everywhere. I am also pretty sure they just resized the size 12 try on dress to my size 4 because the cup sizes were awkward and uneven. Because they have an all sales final when you leave with the dress I was basically told it wasn't their problem. So disappointed and angry. It cost me an extra $300 to fix the issues later on.

If you go here, yes they do have beautiful dresses...but be prepared for the worst...feel free to contact me directly if you have questions before you put a deposit down.

Debbie's Custom Sewing and Alterations

I found Debbie online to do alterations on my wedding dress. She did an amazing job and the results were beautiful. (She added a modesty panel since the dress was a little too low cut for my taste and also a bustle.) I would definitely recommend her to everyone...she is friendly and professional. She took the time to listen to my ideas then provided alternative solutions that I hadn't thought of...which turned out much better than my original idea.

Our wedding planner coordinated our flower order through the Flower Station. We wanted a specific flower due to my husband's heritage and were initially told that they could do this even though it was out of season (we were willing to pay extra to get these flowers). About a month before the ceremony we were told (through the planner) that we would not be able to get the other flowers, which was highly disappointing. Instead, we went with roses which is hard to mess up. Sadly, we were highly disappointed with those as well. The purple roses all had brown on the edges like they were very old. It was so bad that the photographer was unable to take close up pictures of my bouquet with the rings because it looked horrible. My husband's boutoniere started to fall apart before the ceremony even started. I was very disappointed with the quality of flowers compared to the high prices. (Total $207.76 for bridal bouquet with 7 roses, maid of honor bouquet with 3 roses, 3 boutonieres, and 4 corsages.)

The Glass Slipper

We did an out-of-town wedding and used the Glass Slipper for the tuxes. The entire staff was amazing and friendly. My husband's and brother-in-law's tuxes needed a few alterations and this was done quickly. They also steamed out my dress and did a fantastic job. Definitely would recommend!

Also, we found out after the fact that they also do wedding planning...talk to Jessica...you won't be disappointed!

We did an out of town wedding and based on reviews it seemed that Weddings Your Way was a good choice at the time. We were told up front that Wendy would coordinate but not be present for the wedding due to another one she was planning. At first, this was not an issue but later on down the road in planning (we started about 6 months out for a 40-guest wedding) the issues began to show. Correspondence was done primarily by e-mails and any phone conversations I did a follow up in writing through e-mail to confirm what we talked about. About a month before the wedding multiple holes began to show or miscommunications. I am not sure what was the root cause of the issue but my perception was that multitasking the two weddings was not done effectively. The bridal bouquet and groom's flowers had lots of brown around the edges...to the point where we were not able to take close up pictures with rings because it looked horrible. There was also a chunk of cake that had pet hair all over it that we had to throw out. The miscommunications and things falling through the cracks (i.e. cake flowers, tent/chair pricing, tablecloths...all of which we had to call the vendor directly to resolve) created a great deal of stress; which was sad because I hired a planner to avoid stress since my then-fiance was deployed and I had other things going on. Instead of spending quality time with family when we traveled back to MI, we spent lots of time reconfirming everything which caused us lots of stress.

I added two extra stars to each of the ratings since Taylor, our officiant, was the amazing element of Weddings Your Way. We initially talked to her about a week before the ceremony and again the day before. She delivered a heart-felt ceremony and was genuine. Our families enjoyed talking to her and what she brought to the table for our special day.

Bottom line: Taylor was a great officiant and rates 5 stars....Wendy and the planning effort rates 1.5 or 2 of 5 stars.
