I"m surprise there are no reviews for this place yet. They are booked for weddings almost every weekend. So here goes....(long one)!!! First we were going to go with Yank Sing, but the package we got at HKEO was waaaaaaay better! The number one reason why we picked HKEO for our reception(other than our parent saying we have to have a chinese reception)...THE VIEW. Then the food, then the parking. On a clear day, this place has a perfect sunset view of the SF Bay. It's right next to the water in Emeryvile. I'd say this place has a better ambiance than Yank Sing. Not as big, but we fit 33 tables comfortably. They say they can fit 50, but I say not even. They even tried to call us and ask if another party of 10 tables can share the floor. We told them "HECK NO!!!". If we're paying them that much money, we're not sharing a floor!! So they put them upstairs. The food is pricey. We actually didn't really like the menu they have for the tradition 10 course, so we created our own with what they had. They will work with you on that, which is Fab! You can add, take away, change any of the menus items. And because a lot of our guest our aren't use to "differnt" chinese food, we tried to keep it..normal for the american who arent use to "Sea Cucumber and Abalone".haha. They charge us on the menu. The cake cutting fee ($5/table compare to YS $3/person!), corkage fee of $20/table & we can bring as much alcohol/drinks as we wanted. Bartender fee $25/hr and you have to have two. Appetizer for $2 a piece (yeah, think $2 for one Siu Mai) and we had 600 pieces. The appetizer was just something extra we added to make our guest happy. It's usually not done at a chinese reception, b/c the first course is usually the appetizer. And the dance floor for $400. When you add everything up it equals a lada mula. My opinion, we got our moneys worth then we would at an american wedding reception hall. We had so much food, our guest brought food home!! The service was good. The head table got serve individually plated. They give you for free red, white, pink, or sage green napkins. They have other colors, but that's extra ($2/napkin). The table cloth include white. You can get an Ivry one for extra. One great thing about HKEO for payment, they take credit card!! If you look around for other chinese restaurants, they want the form of pay in cash or cashier check, and no personal checks. Sorry, i don't have time to sit there and count money on my wedding day at the end of the night. The parking is free and there's plenty of it. The only complaint i have was at the end of the night, we had all this alcohol left and they tried to keep it!! Either that or they were too lazy to pack up all the alcohol. I kept asking wheres the alcohol and they were like.."oh, it's mostly gone" Then when I asked "well, what's that"..."oh, that's yours." Then came back later "well, what's that"..."oh, that's yours too". WTH!! All in all, we're glad we went with HKEO for our reception. I still have people telling me it's the best chinese food they have ever had.

I give them 3 stars, only because they have a HUGE selection of wedding dresses. Other than that, the customer service really sucks. The woman who helped me was really nice, but eveyone else was so snobby. I did eventually purchase my dress there though. And when I went back to pick up my beautiful dress, it seems like..because I bought my dress already, they didn't need to make me feel special anymore. =(

If you are looking for an invitation vendor that will do dual languages, I would go to H2. BUT, if you're on a budget, I wouldn't go there. They have a ton of selections, plus they carry other vendors invitations too. But their own is cheaper. Cute little store. They have everything nicely displayed and oraganize for you to look at. We walked over to Ho Tai down the street, and I got a headache just walking in there through the mess. I must warn you that you will pay for EVERY little thing. I mean, you think if you buy invitations, you get envelopes...NOPE, extra! One shocking thing was, when I expected to pay extra for the dual language, I got charge for a second plate. I mean, I thought that's what the dual language charge was, but no, it's an extra charge for using another plate to print the second language!! OMG! Basic is a black thermal print, but extra for foil colored printing. You want a return address on your invitation, extra. I'm serious, everthing was extra (except maybe the font). One more warning. Please come prepare on what you want written on the invitation. If you change ANYTHING after, even when you get your sample print, you will be charged a $25 fee. They will give you outline for "fill in the blank". And it will be extact what the outline reads on your invitation. So don't fill in the blank and just give it to them if that's not what you want written. What I did was bring home the outline, and just used it as a reference. I later emailed them EXACTLY how I wanted the invitations to print. It was expensive, but they did everything right the first time, and that was worth it to me.

Well,4 stars only because the didn't do exactly what I finally asked for (i changed my mind a lot about how I wanted it to look). They kept most of what I asked for (4tier, ivory with gold ribbons (that I bought & gave to them), pearl dots with red roses on top only). They end up putting the roses on the side too (which was what I wanted at first, but asked at the end to take off). That was the ony flaw of it, but it look good still..i guess. Got the Opera, Italian Rum and White with Guava filling. Yum Yum!! Charlene was really helpful. They don't have much of a album, but they can pretty much do anything if you just bring a picture. I think they only do fondount, but my friend who also went with them ask for marzipon(sp?) and they did it. Price was reasonable, but when we went back, I saw they increased it by like $200-300 dollars! Wow!

Blanca is a professional. All emails questions were always answered quickly. I was searching high and low for chair covers at a reasonable price, and I'm so glad I went with Blanca. The only thing that stress me out was she told me the week before the wedding that chair covers didn't fit, but she was able to find another set lightning fast. They were still a little to short, but no one even noticed. Chair covers are covers, but without good quality sashes, it's means nothing, and mines were great!! Everthing was on time, and she had her crew take everything down at the end of the night, so I had no worries with her services.

Jira and her team did an AMAZING job (just like everyone else stated). I did do a trial with her first, and that's why I decided to book her for my Oct wedding. Everyone showed up on time...like she promised and ended on time...like she promised. Only boo boo made was on my part. I cut my hair 3 months before the wedding with someone else and thought it would grow out on time. Bad mistake. But she still was able to do what was done at our trial. I was asking if she'd stay with me the whole day, and she said the make up would stay, and not to worry and it did!! And so did everyone elses. I did the airbrush foundation (a must!) and it looked flawless. My gf/sister/mom makeup stayed also. I wouldn't say she's the most afforable, but I thought it was worth every penny!! Check out her blog if you don't believe me.. http://jirawowpretty.blogspot.com/ Jira...so glad I found you (^_^)!!
