So, here is our engagement story...On Friday night, July 24, Paul told me that he was going to take me to dinner and that it was a surprise and a place we had never been before. While driving toward downtown Franklin, he told me that there was another surprise. He said that he had made an appointment at CJ's Off the Square (a wedding venue in Downtown Franklin) and that we were going to tour the facility before dinner. We had seen the facility before on the internet and thought it was a beautiful place for a wedding. I was really excited to see this place since I had been looking at wedding pictures from this venue for some time. Little did I know, he had rented out the venue for the night. Everyone at CJ’s played along and took us on a tour of the facility. After touring the inside, they told us to walk outside and look at the garden and gazebo area. After stepping outside, Paul said that the real surprise was that we were having dinner here (at CJ’s) tonight. I saw hundreds of rose petals and candles and listened as romantic music played. There was a table for two set up around the pond area with a dozen roses and chilled champagne. Paul walked me up to the area where the table was set up, and with hundreds of lit candles and rose petals around, he grabbed both of my hands and looked into my eyes. It wasn’t until this moment that I completely realized what was happening. After telling me how much he has enjoyed the last 3 years and how much he loved me, he got down on one knee and proposed! We had a nice, romantic dinner and danced the night away. For dessert, Paul had us chocolate covered strawberries decorated as bride and grooms…he’s proud of this one! It was a perfect night and a wonderful beginning to the rest of our lives together!
