Beautiful U Bridal

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
Choosing Beautiful U was probably the most important decision of my wedding (besides the groom of course)! A co-worker of mine recommended Arlene at Beautiful U, since my usual seamstress would not alter my wedding dress. My dress was an antique from the 1930s, made entirely of old Chantilly lace. Due to the fragile nature of the dress, the other seamstress would not dare alter my dress. Arlene had no fear; her confidence and proven ability convinced me she could alter the antique to fit me perfectly. She and the whole staff at Beautiful U are friendly, calm and talented. Her appointment times are flexible and she even met me on Sunday morning before the week of the wedding. I couldnt imagine having a better seamstress for my wedding dress. The dress indeed fit perfectly and the old lace lasted all through the night. In fact, we loved Beautiful U so much that she altered my moms dress, made the two bridesmaid dresses and made the two flower girl dresses. Very reasonable prices considering the workmanship is of the highest quality. I highly recommend Arlene at Beautiful U she made my dream wedding dress a reality!

Yolanda's Specialty Cakes

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
Yolandas Cakes can be summed up in one word: delicious! We visited to try samples and pick out our cake the samples were delicious and the cake on our wedding day was even better. They have many flavors, fillings, icings and designs to choose from. They even offer many beautiful cake stands to choose from. The prices are reasonable, they delivered the cake on time, and we had many compliments on our cake. I was especially pleased that they were able to cater to our special needmy husband likes chocolate but I only like vanilla! We split the two tiers of our cake (they made one chocolate and one vanilla) but for the top was specially made for us. Half (one side) was chocolate for my husband the other half was for me; note this wasnt half on top and half on bottom. We are thrilled that well be able to evenly split our saved cake top next year!

Salinas Catering Inc

( 1.0 / 5.0 )
After seeing that there werent many affordable options for Mexican-style catering in the Corpus Christi area, we decided to go with Salinas. While the staff and owners were pleasant and the price per person was very affordable, the results on the wedding day were not quite what we were expecting. The food was nothing outstanding and they forgot to bring fajitas, which were a main dish we had ordered and paid for! We were upset that there might not be enough food or options for our guests. The food didnt stay warm long enough for seconds, and food ran out quickly. The rice and beans were just above horrible and the enchiladas sufficed. The staff that were supposed to help cut up the cake and serve it to our guests did not show up either. We had to find volunteers to cut up our cake, and then guests had to scramble to get a piece of our delicious cake! The only thing notable about Salinas was that their prices were decent.

McGee Beach (Chorpus Christi)

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
Our wedding on McGee Beach was just perfect. The city was easy to deal with in order to get permission to hold the ceremony and they keep their beaches really clean. The price for holding the ceremony was only $55, so it was an affordable location. The spectators were very polite they kindly let us have our space but added a unique audience in the distance for our wedding. The sand was perfect for walking barefoot down the aisle, and the noise from the waves provided a peaceful soundtrack. It was a windy day, but our guests didnt seem to mind. Parking was easily accessible and available just across the street (there was even a pedestrian crossing). Just the perfect, clean and quiet beach for a wedding ceremony!
