When I was first planning, there was a ton of girls that were posting their vendor reviews for newbies like me to see.  I was so lucky to have such wonderful girls advising me, so I thought I would do the same.  Of course...I have to wait until the day of to actually review, but thought I would get a jump start and at least write them all down : )

Photographer ~ Chris Pritchard ~ A ~ We love him!  He is so talented and easy to work with.  Haven't got our pics back yet, but will share when we do.  He made every effort to make sure we got great, unique shots.

DJ ~ Rich from Moonlighting ~ D ~ Not happy about the DJ, in fact, the worst part of the wedding.  From the start he was diffucult to reach and communicate with, but didn't really think much of it because I would eventually speak with him and everything was all good.  Showed up 2 hours late to the ceremony/reception site ~ was supposed to be there at 12 to set up speakers, etc, so that he wouldn't be messing around when our guests started arriving.  I saw him from the RV we were using to get ready in and thought OMG! he was wearing cut-off jean shorts and a tank top.  HOT!  Then, what do you know, he's not even at the reception ~ he had some other guy ~ a friend I presume ~ to stand in for him because he booked another wedding.  We booked him about 9 months before, so not cool.  Then this DJ "friend" plays our first dance song, then father/daughter and procedes to play EVERY SONG on our must play list, one right after the other.  I finally had to grab my aunt and have her say something.  Duh, we were up their dancing for at least a half hour straight without a break to actually talk to our guests, until my aunt talked to him.  Not done yet ~ my grandfather and I originally wanted to dance the Tennessee waltz together, but then he wasn't feeling well, so my father told the DJ not to play the song, that we weren't going to do the dance.  I come in from outside getting some air, and he's playing the song!  I see my grandfather across the room and he felt REALLY bad that we didn't dance, so he motioned for the guy to play the song again so we could.  The guy was just horrible.  Very upset that Rich didn't fulfill his end of our agreement.  I have seen many good reviews for him, but this was horrible, and I do not wish this for any bride on her wedding day.

Bagpiper ~ Dave Stuart O'Neil ~ A ~ Very talented guy, knows how to play a ton of instruments.  Wore the entire outfit for our wedding and looked awesome.  A little bummed I didn't get to here more of the bagpipes, but our guests loved him.

Florist ~ Andylous ~ A ~ Julie was so helpful.  Had a few meetings to determine what we exactly wanted and she was always wonderful to work with.  She did our bouquets, bouts, and corsages and supplied us with flowers to do DIY centerpieces.  Everything was gorgeous, and reasonably priced to boot!

Caterer ~ Food & Beverage ~ Martha's Vineyard ~ A ~ Food and service was awesome!  It was hard to tell if it was just the head table getting great service, but from what I heard everybody was.  We did family style service, salads were supposed to be plated and they weren't, but everything else was as discussed.  When they brought our entrees to the table I barely had a chance to aww over the food, looked up and EVERY TABLE had there food too!  We definetely got what we paid for and loved everything about it.

Officiant ~ Reverand Margaret Voss ~ B ~ Very sweet lady, but a little forgetful.  We had 3 meetings before the rehearsal and she still flubbed the ceremony a little.  Nobody else really noticed, but it bothered me, as we had gone over everything excessively.  We did incorporate a few different things into our ceremony though ~ Handfasting and the Pinning of the Tartan, and she was more than willing to learn how to do them.

Cake ~ Sweet Cakes Design ~ B ~ Cake looked and tasted good, but we paid for her to make a topper for the cake and she didn't.  So there our cake sat, on a simple white pedestal without anything on top.  Luckily Lucas had given me a little dutch kissing figurine that morning, so we just stuck that on top.

Kilt Rental ~ Atlanta Kilts ~ A ~ These are the sweetest southern people you could imagine.  Everything we needed and more, highly recommend them for renting and purchasing.

Rings ~ Devries Jewelers ~ A

Ceremony & Reception Location ~ Douglas Walker Park ~ A ~ This is a county park, so we weren't really expecting much help out of them, but the Park Manager Josh ~ a hottie for you single girls ~ was SO helpful.  Gorgeous site and very well maintained.

Hair ~ Shelley @ Panopolous ~ A ~ She also works on her own, which is what she did for my day.  FABOULOUS!  Great job and very highly recommend her.  She did my MOH's hair also, without ever seeing her before and it was so pretty.  She looked like a movie star!

Makeup ~ Heather Spataro ~ Makeup by Heather ~ A+++ ~ So easy to work with and an absolutely great personality to back it up.  She offered to stay through our pre-wedding photo shoot to do touch ups and we took her up on it.  I loved having her there and she even took a ton of pictures with my camera for me while we were doing our pro-pics.  Loved her!

Chair & Bar Rental ~ Alpine Rent-All ~ A

Carpet Aisle Runner Rental ~ Kentwood Rental ~ B ~ Was supposed to be ready on Friday, but they rented it out so we couldn't pick it up until Saturday, when we obviously didn't have the time to screw with it.  We paid for the entire weekend, so kinda bogus.

My Dress, Bridesmaid Dress, MOB Dress ~ Cutlerville Bridal ~ A ~ The store itself is a little ummm...outdated.  But everyone that works there was wonderful and very helpful.

MOB Dress ~ Bridal Gallery ~ A ~ Dress came in on time, alterations pretty fast.

Honeymoon ~ Excellence Riviera Cancun ~ A ~ This place is gorgeous, service amazing, beaches, pools and grounds outstanding, food award-winning.  'Nuf said...go there!

We are going to do a traditional Scottish handfasting ceremony in addition to our vows.

As an expression that your hearts are joined together in love - will you please face each other and hold hands, so you may feel the gift that you are to one another.

These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you, as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow, and forever.

These are the hands that will work alongside yours as together you build your future.

These are the hands that will love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch will comfort you like no other.

These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes; tears of sorrow, and tears of joy.

These are the hands that will tenderly hold your children.

These are the hands that will help you to hold your family as one.

And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch.

*Insert Vows Here*

With this cord, I bind Lucas and Andrea to the vows they make to each other. (Wrap wrists with the ribbons)

The knots of this binding are not formed by this cord, but by your vows. You hold in your hands and hearts the making or breaking of this union. May your marriage be blessed with patience and dedication, forgiveness and respect, love and understanding. (Officiant unties the ribbons)

We decided to write our own vows, but definetely borrowed from others.  We are going to alternate saying them to each other, so it should be very cool.  Working on memorizing them now, but will still have a cheat sheet available.

Andrea: I promise to give you the best of myself and to ask of you no more than you can give.

Lucas: I promise to respect you as your own person and to realize that your desires are no less important than my own.

Andrea: I promise to share with you my time and my attention and to bring joy and imagination to our relationship.

Lucas: I promise to be there when you need me and to do everything in my power to ensure your happiness.

Andrea: I promise to support and inspire you, to laugh with you, and to comfort you.

Lucas: I promise to listen always with an open mind and to speak with honesty.

Andrea:  I promise to encourage our love to strengthen as our new family grows.

Lucas:  I promise to protect you and keep you from harm, to hold you close and keep you warm.

Andrea: I promise to love you in good times and in bad, with all I have to give and all I feel, completely and forever.

Lucas: I promise to love you in good times and in bad, with all I have to give and all I feel, completely and forever.
