So it is VERY important for FI and I to get some pics of us in downtown Detroit.  We both love the city and go down there often, I'm going to collect other brides shots of D town here for some inspiration.

So even with no BP, we wanted to get a limo, so we could run downtown to Detroit, and get some pics, without having to worry about parking or anything.  Well, in one of those ad mag's that everyone gets in the mail box, there was a deal we couldn't pass up!  So, here's the sweet ride we'll be in:

I've been using this company for years (going back to Prom!) so we are getting the limo for $300/5 hours!  YAY!

So following with the baseball theme, I wanted our escort cards to look like tickets.  So I played around in Publisher, and this is what I came up with:

DIY Escort Cards photo 1

Each couple will have them in a envelope similar to the ones you get from the bank drive-thru, with their name on the front of the envelope.  I envision letters on the table as well - Either "Will Call" or "Box Office".  We haven't quite decided which one yet.  =)

The one thing that bugs the bejeezus out of me, is when every wedding sounds the same.  You hear the same songs for the cake cutting, the garter toss, etc.  So I tried to personalize the list to us:

Reception Music:

Parents Introduction: Best of My Love - Emotions

Couple Introduction: Gimme Some Lovin’ by The Spencer Davis Group

First Dance Song: True Companion by Mark Cohn

Father/Daughter Song: Sunshine of My Life by Stevie Wonder

Mother/Son Song: Forever Young by Rod Stewart

Bouquet Toss: Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend from Moulin Rouge

Garter Removal: Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins

Garter Toss: P.Y.T - Michael Jackson

Cake Cutting: 1234 by Plain White T's

So neither FI or I are the traditional classical music type.  I'd rather have no music then the standard trumpet voluntary, here comes the bride, canon in d etc.  Instead, I turned to some favorite movies, that have great scores, and this is the list I came up with:

                       Ceremony Music

Prelude:

Somewhere in Time Theme 3:46

Kathleen Mavoureen - Gettysburg Soundtrack 3:18

Dawn - Gettysburg Soundtrack 1:59

Ashokan Farewell - The Civil War MiniSeries 2:59

Reunion & Finale - Gettysburg Soundtrack 5:46

The Ludlows - Legends of the Fall 5:24

The Main Theme - The Patriot 6:40

Processional: Jessica’s Theme - Man From Snowy River 3:48

Recessional:

An American Symphony– Mr. Hollands Opus London Metropolitan Orchestra 3:31

Any other suggestions?
