After Dealing with President Tuxedo for a couple of different occasions, I've learned to NOT deal with the locations at the malls. Those are all owned by the corporate office, and pretty much could care less. We had a major mess up for a wedding that DH stood up in last year. Wrong tuxes ordered for the fathers, missing buttons, broken cufflinks, pants hemmed too short for the groom, and all we were told was "Oh well, Make it work". HAHAHA, but why then the 5 star review you ask? I went to the little non-mall store - OH it's a franchise! - And Vinnie at the President Tuxedo in New Baltimore saved the day! The night before the wedding, he met me while he was eating dinner (after hours) to get the suits to fix the buttons, re hem the pants, get me the right shoes and cufflinks. He did it all with a smile too, and everything with a smile. He had eerything ready to go first thing in the AM. So when we got married, we thought of Vinnie, DH knew that he wanted to but a suit, but we needed to find an orange vest. And he came through. He sold us the vest, long tie, bow tie, and was even able to come up with a pocket square even though the package didn't come with one. And as repeat customers (even though he didn't get a penny for fixing anything) he gave us a discount. Even if you aren't from Macomb County, Vinnie's customer service is worth the drive to New Baltimore to get your tuxes through him.

We got dear FI's wedding band from Titanium Kay. There is a pretty decent selection on their website. Even though before we ordered the band we had FI sized, and ordered the size the jewelry store told us too, it was too big when we got it. So we returned and and got the new ring in 4 days, including shipping, VERY fast if you ask me. The ring is just gorgeous!

The Boudoir Loft
I am the client that the review below is speaking of (which I'm not sure how long the review will be there, as there are proper ways for vendors to review themselves). Long story short, we had booked the photog (under the name "The Village Paparazzi) for 21 hours over 2 days. We had to cancel one of the days because it was to be a destination wedding (see my bio) and my father has fallen very ill and is no longer able to travel. So we had to cancel the destination wedding, and had rescheduled the ceremony for the same day as the at home reception. So as we would need her for less than half the time, and there would be no travel for her now, yes, we did ask for a discount, however that was well before the invoice was sent. She refused to give us a discount even though we would only be using her for about 10 hours as opposed to the original 21 that was booked. When we received the invoice she wanted payment 19 days prior to the new date, even though the contract clearly stated that payment was due on the day of the event. When we questioned her on this she said that we had too many issues, and would be refunding our deposit, and that we would need to find a new photographer. There was no free engagement shoot. We paid $75 dollars with that money to be credited to the wedding package if we choose to book her. She is now saying Free Boudoir, but is holding my deposit hostage, as she needs to calculate a price for the boudoir shoot and take that out of the deposit. We had paid $135 dollars for a B-pic book and her editing, I would be more than happy to let her keep that as long as I get the rights to my images. She locked me out from downloading them, as soon as she let us go. So I'm not looking for the B-pic book money or the $75 credit for the engagement shoot. I just want my deposit back, so I can move on to another photographer, but she says that her attorney is handling the matter, but she refuses to give me her attorney's name.

JS Entertainment, LLC
I can't recommend the staff at JS Entertainment enough. One of the owners, Sheila, is extremely helpful and friendly! They were very easy to work with, I was always able to contact them if the need arised. They have a HUGE selection of music, and everything was appropiate (dinner music, etc). They kept our guests on the dance floor all night, and no one wanted the music to end. They also kept the evening flowing - MC'ing the toasts, the garter and bouquet toss, and the cake cutting. One of my best vendor experiences in the whole wedding process. I can't say enough!

Riverhouse Banquet Center
They are also listed under Riverview Elegant Waterfront Inc. We had our wedding here on August 21st, and I'll cover the good first....The venue is small, good for intimate receptions, the outdoor patio was a hit with out guests, and the food was delicious by all accounts. The BAD - Getting ahold of someone is pretty much impossible. From my understanding the managers children have health issues, and you can never get a hold of her. Both the voice mail on her cell phone, and the hall's are constantly full, and it takes days for them to get back to you. They had originally double booked our date, but gave us a pretty good discount to move to a Friday. When we signed out contract and put our deposit down, we told them that we wanted a pig roast, it wasn't until 7 days before the wedding that they told us we would have to get our own pig roaster, and we had problems getting ahold of them about it. Finally 2 days before the wedding, someone called us back and told us that they got one, but we would have to pay them for it the night of the reception. Then they called us 45 minutes before the ceremony started to tell us that they would only take cash for it, when we had a check all written out. GRR, who has time to run to the ATM then??? The service and attitude was extremely poor. I (the bride) was dumping ashtrays for my guests, and picking up empty glasses to return to the bar. When I said something to the manager about it, she told me "It's not her job to wash glasses" and the bartender that was at the Tiki Bar - that we paid extra for - said that I "should tell my guests to bring their glasses back with them". I was really amazed by their rudeness. They had pulled everyones champagne glasses when they went up to the buffet, when we had 2 other people to give toasts. I could go on, but I'm sure you get my point, it was a horrible experience, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

The Village Paparazzi photography
This first part is my original review for the vendor that I had created back in January, after which we had run into so problems with her, and I"m posting updates as they happen, so please read the review in all entirety. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Kim is an amazing photographer!!! I've looked at my engagement photo's probably 100 times, and they still take my breath away. She's not one of those photographers, that are like, do this, now do this, and do that. I think that's why everything came out perfect! It was all natural. All of our friends and family love them, one recently married friend regrets that I didn't find her sooner because she would have scooped her up as her photographer instead of the one she used. Her prices are very reasonable, and you are ALWAYS able to get intouch with her. No missing vendor problems here. I can't wait for the wedding shoot! We plan on using Kim and The Village Paparazzi for all our important life events. _____________________________________________________________________________________ EDIT (on 07/17/2009): We ended up having some issues with this vendor. After my b-pic shoot, she had limited me to the number of edits I was allowed, with no notice. After my first group of suggestions to the book, she said that they would be the "final edits". Also, about a month prior to the wedding she wanted to change the terms of her contract that we had signed, from payment on day of, to payment 3 weeks prior. Or at least half 3 weeks prior and the rest 7 days before. When we called to clarify, she informed us that we have "too many issues" for her to deal with, and she said that she would return our deposit. It's only been 3 days since that, I'll inform you how long it takes to get it returned. _____________________________________________________________________________________ EDIT 2 (on 07/23/2009): After a week of not hearing anything from her, I had emailed Kim to see the status of my refund for my deposit, and was informed that her attorney was working out the details, but refused to give me her attorney's contact information and would not give a time to expect my refund. And to clarify the review that she posted along with mine...we had orginally booked the photographer for a total of 21 hours between 2 seperate days. One day was for a destination wedding about 7 hours from our homes, which we had to cancel, as my father has fallen extremely ill and is unable to travel. And its not just an issue of my father not being there, but he was to perform the ceremony as well. So now we would be only needing her for about 10 hours, as we had rescheduled the ceremony to take place the same day as the after honeymoon reception. So as she wouldn't need to be travelling, and we would be needing her for 11 hours, yes, we did ask for a discount as soon as we found out about my father. Which she refused to give. We had paid $75 dollars for the engagement shoot, with that money to be credited to the wedding package if we choose to use her. She is claiming that she shot the Boudior session for free, but is now holding our deposit hostage saying that she needs to take money for the Boudoir Shoot out of it. So I'm not sure which it is? I stand by the fact that she does great work, she just isn't the best business person. _____________________________________________________________________________________
