The Plant Shoppe Florist

( 4.0 / 5.0 )
Betsy, the owner worked with us and helped us get beautiful flowers on a tight budget. Originally I would have loved for her to have done the centerpieces, but we just could have afforded it. The girls' bouquets and mine were gorgeous!!! The flowers were fresh and she really followed my vision. My husband choose his own flowers for the bouts and they turned out great! She was willing to order tulips from us in bulk so that we could put together our own centerpieces which was really great. It didn't have all the extras that she had put together for her quote, which was a bummer, but they still turned out beautiful.

This place was amazing! I couldn't believe how inexpensive it was and what all we got for it. The base price was $500, and we added the kitchen, and several set up hours, since it was so inexpensive and a couple of event hours (again since it was so inexpensive). They have a total of eight 60" rounds, and we needed 14 so we had to get the rest from the caterer. Since we get 12 tables from them we got our buffet tables to make up the difference. They have several 8' rectangles and 6' rectangles. When you call to get prices and availability it may take a while for them to get back to you. They are a non-profit and are not there all the time. There is a chairperson in charge of facility rentals. She will call you back, you just have to be patient. We picked up the key in advance, they let us have a key even though they had a guy there doing set up and break down of their equipment. This actually worked to our advantage though, b/c we were able to take most of the stuff over on Friday night for the rehearsal. I-75 runs right behind the property so it was kind of loud, but everyone could still hear us, and we only used the large patio for the ceremony. That's the only area affected by the traffic noise. Chairs are not allowed on the grass, we originally wanted to have chairs on the front lawn so we could get married under the arbor, but that didn't work out. It was a beautiful venue, it worked out great for our guests and vendors. Parking is on site and plenty of it! Next year they are building another small building that will be great for babysitting, getting ready, and bridal/baby showers.

Celebrations Catering

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
Celebrations is all inclusive. They provide everything from food, plates, glasses, flatware, centerpieces, tables, chairs, pubs, stools, linens, you name it. Their servers and bartenders are trained and licensed and they have some serious insurance. So no worries there. They work with each client to make it a unique experience. They are also very familiar with the venues in Gainesville, and many of the other vendors. 2 thumbs up!! UPDATE: They did an AMAZING job for the wedding!!! Leah made my vision come to life. When I got to the venue everything looked just as I had planned it, and it was so much more. I didn't have to micromanage every detail with her. I gave her the idea and she ran with it. The food was unbelievable. Even a family member with the most discriminating of palates, loved it. We went with a non-traditional menu (for our families anyways), pan-Asian. The staff was awesome, very attentive to us and made sure we had what we needed. We are pretty laid back, so it was a great evening.
