The service and results were as one might expect. The job was completed correctly and on time, but no one bothered to learn our names or make any suggestions. We were pretty much on our own, but as we had designed the invitations ourselves, it was not a major issue.

Amazingly, all of the tuxedoes fit, even the one for which we had to provided someones measurements and hope for the best. (He was not able to be there for the fitting.) The shoes were a little worn-looking, though, and the sales person a little unprofessional. Altogether, though, it worked out well in the end.

Mr. Mohabat is my husbands adopted brother. On the day of our rehearsal, he received word that his biological brother was dying. As there were no planes available until early morning, Mr. Mohabat, despite his grief, shot all of the pictures we needed between 9:00 pm and midnight. He boarded at plane to see his brother a few hours later. I have never seen such dedication to fulfilling a commitment.

Free At Last Church of God In Christ

When a church member heard that we needed chairs for our ceremony, he not only offered to lend the chairs from the church, but he and his son loaded them, delivered them, and set them up for our guests! This was a loving and truly sacrificial act.

Mr. Schuckert knew exactly what parts of the ceremony and reception to capture. The quality of the CD was excellent and he made several back-ups in case something happened to the original. He was very professional covering all the important pieces without blocking anyones view or becoming obtrusive.

The Saint Paul Hotel

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
The St. Paul continued with its usual five-star service. We were met at the door by eager bellhops. Our car was parked in covered parking (there was a blizzard that night) and every amenity was available to us despite the lateness of our arrival. The staff had anticipated our needs and met them unobtrusively and with the utmost of courtesy.

My hair turned out exactly as I asked. In addition, my stylist, Keith, helped to calm the pre-wedding nerves with herbal tea and light conversation! They allowed my then ten-year-old daughter to choose her own style and I think that went further than anything to help her feel included before the wedding. It was touching to watch how careful they were of her feelings at a stressful time.

When we were disappointed in our first room, the hotel manager immediately offered us the Vice Presidential Suite for two weeks, at no extra charge. The restaurant staff became personally involved in our honeymoon, recommending places to go, preparing special dishes and comping occasional drinks. Every time we appeared in the lobby, it buzzed about how we were on our honeymoon and we certainly got the red-carpet treatment. I am from Florida, and it is rare in an area that is inundated with tourism for a staff to be so extremely courteous. We are both well-traveled and agreed that this service was above any we ever experienced.

This was the most negative experience of the wedding. Instead of sending the dress in a size 2, they send me one in a size 10. Then, they refused to do anything to alter or replace it. Please, brides, do NOT put yourselves through this nightmare.

Mancini's Char House & Lounge

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
Rehearsal Dinner: It was perfect. Pat and John Mancini handled all the details personally. Appetizers came immediately. Drink orders were filled exactly and promptly. The young people were given particular consideration and items of the menu were explained to them. The steaks, as always, were outstanding. It could not have been a more successful dinner. Cake: This was probably the greatest gift of the wedding. We were scrambling for or wedding cake at the last minute, and I had called Pat Mancini to confirm the rehearsal dinner. When he heard that we were still without a cake he provided us with lovely individual frosted cakes for each table at a very minimal cost. He absolutely saved us from that dilemma!

Venue: The room was completely prepared when we arrived. A competent staff person collected coats and heavy winter clothing. The tables were spaced in such a way as to allow conversation but not the feeling of being packed into an area. Our wishes with respect to serving only a minimal amount of alcohol were honored without anyone being offended. The servers took the time to learn the name of each person at their tables, so it never seemed as though we were being warehoused. Food/Catering: The staff were waiting for us when we arrived and immediately began serving drinks and salad so that our guests did not have to wait for anything. Everyone was friendly, not only to the bridal party, as may be expected, but also to each guest -- even the very excited children! The entre was exactly as we ordered, and it was hot and delicious. They quickly and efficiently bussed tables between courses. Water glasses were always full and they offered to cut and serve the cakes for us. Altogether, it was a very positive experience.

Forepaugh's Restaurant

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
We had a winter Victorian wedding in the Forepaugh Mansion on Summit Avenue. The home was elegantly and thematically decorated on our behalf. We were able to cut down on our flower expenses because the decorators provided evergreen sprigs tied in burgundy bows. (Our colors were hunter green and burgundy, so this covered the entire color scheme.) The woodwork was highly polished and elegant mirrors were perfectly clear and sparkling. Our guests could not get over the beauty and aptness of the setting.

My eldest attendant was fifty-five, my youngest was ten! The Herbergers staff helped me to find unique favors suitable for the occasion and each attendants interest. The bridesmaids and readers were delighted with the personal nature of their gifts.

We vacillated a number of times on the flowers, and each time our consultant was patient and courteous. He offered good advice on how to maintain a beautiful floral presence without spending thousands of dollars. The arrangements were crisp, fresh and exactly to specifications. On our wedding day, he delivered the flowers personally and remained to help pin them. I would definitely recommend this excellent and personal service to bridal couples.

Hotel Block: Our guests were received with no glitches in their reservations. Their clothes were readied and ironed correctly and on time. The young people enjoyed the amenities specifically designed to keep children from being bored in a hotel! I thought the rates were a little high, but the service was excellent.
