It was a cold and foggy night in Santa Ana. My boyfriend (now fiance) planned a New Years Eve party (December 31, 2008). Victor had planned this party for months. He was very open about his plans and even asked me to help him (Mind you, through out the entire planning I had no idea his main plan was to ask me to be his wife). Victor and I love music and concerts. So he wanted to give this party that type of theme. He made sure to have plenty of food and drinks, a karaoke machine for our guests, and even arranged to have a mini concert. His sister "Laura" sings and my brother beat-boxes. As everyone ate and drank he gathered everyone together in the backyard. The show began with my brother beat-boxing three songs "my love" by Justin Timberlake, a reggae song (I forgot the name) and an Aaliyah song. Then his sister sang a beautiful song while Victor played the base and Laura's BF Ruben played the guitar. After they were done, I thought the show was over.

To my great surprise, Victor gets on the mic to say " The show isn't over, we have one more song and I'm going to sing". He proceeds to say the next song is dedicated to my best friend, the person who I want to spend the rest of my life with Rebecca Quiroz. I was not really taken back by what he said because he loves to Kareokee and he loves to show me how much he loves me. He started to sing "Breathe" by Angles and Airwaves. As he was almost done with the song he begins to walk towards me. I'm thinking "Why is he getting close", but then say to my self "awe his just being more romantic, he wants to finish signing the song to me on his knee". As he proceeds to finish the verse:

We're here right now, there's interest in your eyes so hear me out, and here this he first time: (He gets on one knee) Rebecca Quiroz your my best friend, I can't imagine my life without you (brings the box out). Will you marry me? I was in complete shock!!! I could not believe what had just happened. The whole thing was recorded and the funnier thing is that you see my face smiling the whole time he is singing, but right when he proposes my smile goes away and my mouth is left open. I was like "is this real?". LOL... when he nodded his head yes, with a low tone (while everyone was waiting for me to say yes) I lean towards him and I said yes. I was soooo shocked that I couldn't even cry. I had no idea, not even an inch that his main plan during this party was to propose.

As everyone is screaming for us his mom runs to me and gets on her knee gives me a box and says "will you marry our family?" It was the coolest thing ever! She gave me a huge Juicy Couture key chain ring. Not only was the key chain the coolest thing ever, but the most precious, most valuable thing about this proposal was that I inherited Victor's grandmothers wedding ring. She gave him my engagement ring March of 2008. He had this ring practically the whole year. I can't believe I never suspected. My ring is worth more then anything I could of ever wanted or asked for. It is so unique, different, and one of a kind. There is so much more to this wonderful engagement, but I think I've made this long enough. LOL

I am so blessed to be marring Victor. I can't wait to be Mrs. Segura
