I had seen my dress in the window at David's Bridal while driving by.  I went home and tried to find it online.  But I couldnt find the right dress.  I found a few other styles that I liked also.  I made an appt a few weeks later and when my friend Brianne and I went in the store, the dress I had my eye on was no longer in the window.  I showed the sales woman the few other dresses I had my eye on and asked her about the other dress.  She went and pulled it off the rack for me, but the $1100 price tag was a little out of my budget.  But I had to try it on anyway.  I fell in love!!  I hated to take it off, but I knew I needed to keep the price down.  I tried on the other dresses and liked a couple of them.  Brianne took some pics and I showed them to my mom later since she couldnt be with us when we went to the appointment.  One she said my boobs looked to big, the other she said made my butt look fat.  Gotta love mom's and their honesty!  I went home and finally found the first dress online.  I just figured I would keep looking and I would find something else I would love just as much.  After a few more weeks of browsing online, I looked up the dress I loved at David's and it was marked down to $800!  I made an appt for that same weekend.  My mom was able to go this time.  I tried on all the same dresses that I had the first time.  But I still kept going back to the first one.  I knew that was it!!  The Dress photo 1

This is it!!  I love the bottom of the dress.  The ruffles are so unique perfect.  I wanted something a little different, and this was exactly what I wanted!

After spending hours and hours trying to decide on a honeymoon spot, we have finally picked one!!  We are headed to the Dominican Republic.  We are going to be staying at the Iberostar Bavaro Punta Cana.  It looks amazing!!!!  I can not wait to spend 7 days just relaxing on the beach and enjoying our newlywed bliss.

The Proposal photo 1I knew something was up! It was no secret that we were planning to get married. We had already been looking at rings and I had been browsing online at dresses. There was nothing official yet, but I knew it was coming. Chris and I were planning a weekend trip to St. Louis. We had a room booked at the Hilton downtown and had planned to go out to dinner that Friday night, then to the Big Bang afterwards and to go to Six Flags the following day. So for dinner we walked a few blocks from our hotel to this little Italian place. We had a great dinner and I was excited to go down to The Big Bang. Chris suggested taking one of the horse carriage rides over to the bar. I had on some really cute, yet very uncomfortable new heels. I told him we could just walk down there, those carriage rides are expensive. Of course him being the gentleman that he is, insisted we take a ride. So we walk out of the restaurant and there is a carriage waiting at the door. So we get in and start our ride around down town St. Louis. For some reason there were fireworks going off down town and I was looking at them, I didn’t even notice that Chris was no longer sitting in the seat next to me. I turned around to find him on his knee in the carriage telling me how much he loves me and he pulled out the ring. He asked and I said YES! It was the most amazing, romantic proposal I could ever imagine! With the dinner, then carriage ride and fireworks! It was perfect!

This is just my side of the story. If you ask Chris you will get a whole different version. It would probably go something like...we met and Amie thought I was so charming and handsome, it was love at first sight. Well, part of that may be true, but here's how we came to be... Chris and I met while working at Chili's. I had only been working there for a couple months or so and Chris had made a few comments to me about us going out sometime. I didn't really think that he was serious, so I told him I'd put him on the waiting list. That line has since become a joke between the two of us. A few nights later there was a group going over to Bdubs to have some drinks after work. I decided to go, and Chris happened to be there. We all had a great time together that night. By the end of the evening I guess Chris had enough drinks in him to get up the courage to officially ask me out. So we made plans for the following Saturday. We both had to work that Saturday night, so we had plans to go out for dinner after we got off. He got off work before I did, so he left to get cleaned up. All I remember when he came back to pick me up was that he looked so handsome! And I still smelled like fajitas! He took me to this little place in Urbana that I had never been before. We ended up sitting there until the place closed at 2 a.m. We just talked and talked. After they kicked us out of the restaurant, Chris takes me back to my car. Well, that drop off ended up lasting until 5 in the morning. We had such a great time that we just sat in Chris's car and talked until the sun came up. From that night on, we have been together. We had such great chemistry and I just knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with this man!
