I'm finally a Mrs. now! I can't believe how quickly this day has come and gone. DH and I have just returned from our honeymoon and there's so many things to update everyone on. As most of you have noticed, I was very MIA for the past several months leading up to our big day but DH's grandmother became suddenly very ill about a month and a half before our wedding and then passed away the week before our wedding. It was such a stressful and emotional time for all of us, but we made it through and the wedding turned out to be everything we could have hoped for and more.
I'll be revamping my page over the next month or so when we get our pictures back from Augie, but in the meantime, here are some teasers that he sent to us. I love every single one of them so far! :)
**Please credit any pictures to Augie Chang Photography if you use them! Mahalo!**
our main cake inspiration is from the beautiful wedding of jessicapham (picture below on the left). since we will be incorporating a lot of peach and green cymbidium orchids into our floral arrangements, we'd like to continue the theme with our cake. i love how the cake is being held up in the picture below to the right though and will be arranging something similar to that. we may switch out the greens and incorporate the coral color instead but that hasn't been decided just yet.
so after much deliberation, i've decided to go BACK to my original bridesmaid dress that i had picked out but with some slight modifications. i still want my girls to wear tea-length dresses but the top half of this new dress is just so adorable and i think it fits in really well with my own gown. so here she is! my girls will be rocking these in a really pretty shade of coral and i'm letting them choose their own gold colored heels to pair with it.
everything from the empire waist band and up will mirror the dresses above. for my two MOH's, we'll add some crystals to their flowers to distinguish their dresses from the others. from the empire waist down, the dress will be a simple tea-length like the pictures below. as you can see from my original bridesmaids page, this was my original dress! i should have known that you should always go with your first instinct! :)
i love the look of smokey eyes and really want to accentuate that part of my face the most. here are some inspirational pictures of the look i'd like to go for on the big day:
i stumbled across this amazing picture on Maria Chang's website (i LOVE her work and amazing talent...wish i could have fit her into our budget!). Photo by the talented Jennifer Skog.
for the ceremony, i'm thinking of having my hair in a messy low up-do like these. it's going to be really warm in September, especially where our wedding will take place so i'll need to have my hair pulled back a bit. our ceremony will also be taking place outdoors, so definitely another reason to have it up!
for the reception, i'd love to relax my hair a bit and have it half up/half down like these:
