All my life, (as many young girls do) I've dreamed of the perfect proposal. Naturally, I just figured it would involve candlelight and roses and a perfected speech from the man of my dreams. Well...I got the perfect proposal from the man of my dreams-and it didn't even include candlelight and roses! Jay and I had been talking about marriage for a while and he even had a ring. It was one that his grandmother had given him and it was beautiful - but it wasn't my style (yellow gold and a size and a half too big) so we had decided to wait until he could afford to have it remounted and resized - which would have taken about a few months. So, one day, after we had taken it to a jeweler to get a quote, we were sitting in his living room watching T.V. He goes into another room and comes back out with the ring box. I thought he was just bringing it out to look at it again (I think he liked it better than I did! JKJK) but he steps in front of me, bends down on one knee and says "Alana, I don't want to wait anymore. I want to make it official that we will be together forever. Will you marry me?" To say the least, I was shocked! As a matter of fact, I think my first words were "Are you serious?". After getting over my shock, I said yes. We are so excited!

He Popped the Question photo 1 sorry the pic is so blurry...i took it with the cell

Jay and I actually first laid eyes on each other when we were 12 years old in the seventh grade. I was the new girl and Jay couldn't keep his eyes off of me (even though he won't admit it)! I moved back to my old school after just a couple months and we didn't see each other until about 7 years later when a mutual friend brought Jay to my 19th birthday party. We began calling each other here and there and three months later "officially" began dating. Although we've had a few bumps along the way, here we are, 2 and a half years later, engaged and so happy!
