I figure the man of my dreams deserves his own page! Meet Nick . . .
Nick is just as excited about the wedding as me! In fact he already has his and all the groomsmen's outfits picked out! They will be in all black suits with black shirts and he will be wearing this tie and these creepers:
The groomsmen will be wearing the same tie but in red and converse. All the boys are super excited and have even already started planning Nick's bachlor party!
When I decided on my maids I decided to take them all out to dinner and present them with bouquets asking them to be in my wedding (all but 2 out of towners!). Here are some pics of our 1st bridesmaids dinner!
Right after I got engaged I found the bridesmaid dresses of my dreams, and with the help of an angel named Laura at the Betsey Johnson, I found all of my girls sizes for 40% off!!! The girls tried them on and LOVE them so we are set . . . check and check! These are the dresses the girls will be wearing:
And here are 2 of the girls trying them on:
They were so ecstatic they were cheering in the store! They are begging me to let them keep them, but with the wedding almost a year away I know they just want to wear them ;). We will probably go with red shoes to match the groomsmen's ties.
So I have had my heart set on a tea-length wedding dress with a birdcage veil ever since I can remember. I have been scouring the internet but any help is much appreciated! I am obsessed with Stephanie James Couture and can't wait to check out her shop in HB. Dolly Couture also has GREAT dresses! Here is some inspiration!
I am also pretty much obsessed with shoes so shoe shopping should be fun!!!
Due to our seasonal limitations for wedding planning, we chose to wait until 2010 rather than hurry and get married this Spring. We decided on March 20, 2010 since it is right after the time change (it will be lighter later!) and then we have plenty of time to honeymoon before fire season. We are planning the ultimate vintage/Rock'n'roll wedding! We made a website together to inform guests about the wedding and 'our story' . . .
We are getting married at Rockwood Women's Center in Santa Barbara, only a few blocks from where we live!
Here are some pics of the venue:
We will be having our ceremony outside under the oak tree followed by a cocktail hour, and then the reception right inside. The interior is a ballroom built in the 1920's!!! I LOVE it! I will probably hang some pomanders or mason jars with candles or something from the tree . . .
Something like this maybe?
Our colors are black and white with red (and probably some pinks in the flowers and such.
As for the centerpieces we are mixing vintage with modern. I don't want every centerpiece to be identical so we have vases and votives of various sizes and shapes. Some are mercury glass and vintagy looking and others are square black glass. We also got a bunch of these to use for some of the centerpieces:
I had wanted candelabras, but our venue requires that all flames are enclosed in glass. I couldn't be more thrilled to come across these modern glass, tea-light candelabras! It is 2 panes of glass with the candelabra printed on either side and tea lights where the candles are! I LOVE them! Well thats start for our decor but I have plenty of time to plan so I can't wait to get more ideas rolling!
We are going for black and white striped table runners and a funky/rock and roll style!
We are well on our way to our dream rock and roll wedding!!! Don't wanna give away all my ideas!!!
So I have been on PW for awhile now but haven't made my bio! So here we go . . . My fiance and I got engaged last Halloween when he proposed to me on stage in front of about 200 people at a Misfits cover band concert! He proposed with a plastic spider ring because we had talked about designing as setting for a family diamond.
We had our family friend design the setting with us, and after a long wait, I finally got the engagement ring of my dreams right before Christmas. This kinda kicked off the wedding planning! Since Nick is a firefighter for the Forest service, wedding season for us is VERY limited. May thru November is 'fire season' so that leaves us with winter or early spring.
