The service was HORRIBLE. I've never been treated so poorly before in my life!! The first thing the woman said to me when I sat down was: You can only try on 6 dresses because after that you will be confused. The second thing she said was that the place I was thinking about having my reception at was an awful place. Um...I didn't ask her opinion!! Anyway, it was a stretch to even find 6 dresses I wanted to try on and after it was over, she didn't even ask if I liked a single one, but just disappeared to another part of the store. I would never go back to this vendor or recommend it to anyone who wants a good experience when shopping for a dress.

I emailed them through their website and called and left a voicemail. It's been 3 weeks, and I still have NOT heard back from them!! If this is the way they treat prospective customers, I would NEVER use them as a vendor!!

Elaine was great to work with and her team did a great job on me, my mom and my mother in law for my wedding. Before the wedding, I had gone in to Elaine's to do a trial run and I brought a picture in from a magazine. She did exactly what the magazine looked like (although I ended up not liking the style on me and ended up going with a different look for my wedding.) On the day of the wedding, Elaine and her team arrived at our hotel room a little early and so we had a lot of time to work on our makeup and make sure that everything was exactly how we wanted it. I couldn't have been more pleased with the results.

I used Event Professionals for my wedding on 9/20/08. It took me a whole year before I could write a review because the food at my wedding was so bad that I think I had to get over it before I could calmly write a review. I have ONE major gripe with this company: For the food at our wedding, we ordered chicken marsala with risotto and steak with potatoes. At the tasting, both were great. However, on the night of my wedding, my husband and I sat at the sweetheart's table and had a little of each. The chicken was ok, not as good as at the tasting, but that's to be expected, but the steak was SO HARD THAT I COULD NOT CUT THROUGH IT!! My husband even went up to Donaji (the owner) and Meredith (the coordinator) told them that this was the worst steak that he'd ever had in his life! Their response? Well, would you like another piece? Listen, if it's that disgusting, no one wants to try another piece. When we took a look around while we were toasting other tables, we saw that NO ONE had eaten the steak. When I asked my close cousins about it (because they would be truthful) they said that they wished they brought plastic bags so they could take it home for their dogs, because it was too tough for people to eat! Even now, a year after our wedding, whenever we get together with our family members and friends, people will mention how NASTY the steak was at our wedding. We spent $20,000 on Events Professionals. We didn't expect the food to be 5 star or the best we had ever eaten, but at the very least, we expected it to be edible and soft enough to cut with a knife. Other than this gripe, I thought Event Professionals was ok. They were fairly easy to work with (although at my first meeting with Donaji, she was 30 min late - but she has a son that she has to take to school in the morning, and I understand, sh*t and traffic happens), their coordinator Meredith was friendly and detail oriented, and they did provide random services like lighting so we didn't have to go to another company. I feel a little bad for giving them only 2 stars because overall, they were very nice and pretty accomodating and our wedding was very well timed thanks to them. Also, the apps were fine, the dessert station was good, and our cake was beautiful (but that was from Porto's). However, I just cannot overlook the fact that the food was so bad that a year later, my guests still remember it - in a negative way. All in all, I just CANNOT recommend this company for food, but if you are going to use them for purely events services it would be ok....

Mallette String Quartet

( 2.0 / 5.0 )
I was not impressed with the Mallette String Quartet. First of all, they charged over $200 more than other vendors. I disregarded the price because they said they could play modern as well as classical music. However, when it came time to choose the music for my ceremony, they could NOT play nearly every modern song I suggested, which totally annoyed me because I had decided to pay extra so that I could have more interesting music at the ceremony! Anyway, we ended up playing some songs listed on their website (they have a list of songs on their site, but basically if you want anything that's NOT on the list, you can forget about it) and none of it was really what I had envisioned when I booked them. I guess I should have made sure they could play the songs I wanted before booking. The second thing that bothered me about this string quartet was that in the end, the timing for the ceremony music was totally off. After my bridesmaids had finished walking down the aisle, they kept playing instead of stopping the music and changing it so that I could walk down the aisle. Also, I just finished watching my wedding video, and after the ceremony ended, they didn't start the recessional music until my husband and I had almost reached the exit. The last thing that really bothered me about the service was that after we had agreed upon the price, Bruce called me at 9pm in the evening one night to ask for a $20 dollar check to cover parking. I mean really? I'm paying you $230 more than other vendors and you're calling me in the evening when I'm relaxing after a long day of work to complain about parking and asking for a check for $20??? $20 is nothing compared to the cost of the rest of the wedding and I was happy to help them pay for parking, but Bruce was pretty rude on the phone and he could have easily just emailed me the request instead of intruding on me in the evening. My husband was so annoyed by the call and the attitude that Bruce had over the phone that he told me to go with another vendor, but I had already signed the contract and paid the service fees.
