This night was magical and I never imagined it to be the way it happened. I had NO idea that he was going to propose to me, I thought he would wait for like two more years! BUT this is what happened: Vlad was on a missionary trip through Christmas and New Years, so when he came back we went on a date that he planned to celebrate both Christmas and New Years together. He took me to the Cliff House in San Francisco where we had a really nice candle lit dinner. When we stopped on the side of the road he told me to close my eyes and to let him lead me. So I did what he told me and let him lead me to THE SPOT! As I opened my eyes I was facing a big pond which was very pretty under the stars.... THEN as I turned around.... there it was! About 100 candles and 9 tikki torches lit the waterfall. There were candles everywhere it was SO beautiful. But guess what!? At this moment I STILL did not have a clue! I thought that was the surprise, a pretty spot! So he started telling me all the nice things and eventually got on one knee, asked me to marry him.... I thought I would cry, but I didn't. I was SO excited, happy, and nervous. He got up and we hugged, hugged, and hugged. I didn't know what to say, I realized I made such an awesome decision in my life and wanted it to be blessed so I asked Vlad to pray and he did. We just stood around, went up to the bridge over the waterfall, and then went to the car. As we drove away I could still see all the candles glowing and we stopped on the other side of the pond and just enjoyed the view for a moment and continued driving. I felt like everyone knew, because I got smiles back. After an hour or so we drove back to Sacramento. I came home to a sleeping house, I wanted to wake up my sister to show but I made myself go to sleep. When I woke up I had to look at the ring again to make sure what happened actually did happen. I was in a daze, I went to the living room where my parents were sitting and crawled in between them and my three little sisters also joined and we sat there for like 3 hours.
Vlad asked me to be "his chicka" when we were both young and 16. He was my first boyfriend and my only one and I was the same for him. We survived through High School and transition into CSUS, where we are both finishing our business degrees with concentrations in Accounting. We lead a high school Wednesday Bible study group together, who and which we love very much. We attend the same church, share friends, love each other's family's---> that's what happens when you start dating as "children". Vlad is my best friend, can't wait until he is my husband; and we can move out and start our life together and build a family centered on God.
