Bride and Bloom Wedding Flowers
Amy did a fantastic job with the flowers for my August wedding and exceeded my expectations! I knew the flowers would be beautiful but she really outdid herself and stayed within the budget. I gave her some guidelines/ideas (i.e. colors; photos of venue; my dress style; invitation style; and of course, the budget) and asked her to use her expertise to come up with the design and types of flowers used. The flowers were amazing and went perfectly with the design of the venue. I didn't have to ask guests twice to take the arrangements home. In fact, I had people ask me if they could take the arrangements home. Amy was extremely professional and friendly and followed the timeline beautifully. She visited the venue to make sure the arrangements were properly sized & wrote us a nice note when she delivered the flowers. If you are working within a budget & still want unique and beautiful arrangements....Bride & Bloom flowers is the perfect choice. We spent a little under $2000 on flowers (bridal bouquet; 3 small bridesmaids' bouquets; groom Boutonniere; 7 groomsmen boutonnieres; 3 corsages; 15 table arrangements; buffet arrangement; large arrangement for fireplace; rose petals for aisle runner). Again...I cannot say enough about Bride & Bloom wedding flowers!

We held our August wedding (ceremony & reception) at the Ebell and could not think of a better place to get married! My favorite thing about the Ebell is the venue itself and how it is utilized during the wedding. The ceremony takes place in the indoor courtyard, cocktail hour in the parlor, dinner in the grand hall and dancing in the transformed indoor courtyard. The evening just flows from one area to the other...ending up with everything being open by the time dancing comes along. The historic building is beautiful yet cozy and the Ebell staff is outstanding. Liz, our coordinator, did an excellent job of making sure things ran seamlessly and really went the extra mile to make sure the wedding was exactly how we wanted it. She is so organized and has a lot of great ideas. Liz was easy to get in touch with and made sure that everyting was under control and stress free for us during the planning process and during the wedding itself. Parking: Parking is an extra expense since it is off site but is handled really well and efficiently by the shuttle service. Catering & Cake: The only downside with the Ebell is that there is only one caterer (Jay's) and Cake Baker (Rossmoor Pastries) to choose from. We were not impressed with Rossmoor at the tasting and opted to get the cupcakes from Jay's instead. Overall, Jay's did a fantastic job with the menu planning, food, bar service, set-up, food service and clean-up. Although we were happy with Jay's and only encountered a few mishaps with them (they made the wrong cupcakes and forgot to make our gluten free meals for two of our guests), it would have been nice to have another option. That being said, Jay'd did remedy the gluten free meal situation right away but the cupcakes were not what we had ordered (the ones that they brought did taste good but were not what we had planned for). Not to be missed: One of the best things about the Ebell is the food tasting event they host with Jay's. They set up the venue like a real wedding and treat you to an evening of food tasting and cocktails. You get an opportunity to meet with the vendors and visualize what your wedding will look like. You will love it!

Overall, I was really happy with the style and fit of my dress and felt beautiful in it. I didn't expect to find my dress at David's Bridal but fell in love with a dress and it happened to be within my budget. When shopping for my dress, the associate was very helpful eventhough she had 2 other customers to work with at the same time. The only problem I had with David's bridal is that the associate did not measure me before ordering the dress and ordered the wrong size. I expected to have to pay for some alterations & bustling but did not expect that it would cost almost the same price as the dress itself. Unfortunately, I had to pay an additional fee to have it altered to fit since it was ordered in a size too big. I normally wear a size 1 and am fairly petite. I was told by the associate that I would wear a size 2 and I, of course, trusted her judgment and professional opinion. If I would have known the dress came in a petite size 2, I would have asked the associate to order a petite instead. I did not find this out until later when looking at the dress on the website. I did have to come back for 2 additional fittings for the alteration department to get the fit right. It did look stunning on the day of my wedding though. My advice for you: Make sure the associate takes your measurements before ordering your dress.
