I can only say that I have been waiting months to write this review. I have nothing but great things to say about Kimberly Thompson of A Beautiful Ceremony. Kim is not only a great minister and officiant but an absolute pleasure to work with. Once you hire Kim to peform your ceremony you can rest assured that you will have both an meaningful and beautiful ceremony, as well as a someone who will manage that ceremony from start to finish.

We hired Kim to perform our wedding after an extensive search. Our budget was very tight, so after our initial conversation, I regretted that we wouldn't be able to have her peform the ceremony. However Kim is so great. She worked within our budget and I am so happy that she did. We actually recieved a lower quote afterwards, but I knew that Kim was who I trusted to peform our ceremony.

Kim is a great communicator and email and calls from time to time to check up on you and make sure that things are going okay. She has an extensive portofolio beatifully written work. She will work with you to help make your ceremony unique and meaningful. Kim goes through each draft of the ceremony, double checking all the details so that on your wedding day your ceremony will be perfect. She even meets with you at the county clerk to make sure that all your paperwork is completed and correct!

On the day of our ceremony Kim did an amazing job performing our ceremony. As always she was professional and pleasant. After our ceremony many of our guests commented on how nice it was and how much they enjoyed it.

There are a lot of people who will perform your ceremony, but if you want someone who has years of knowledge and experience and someone who will go the extra mile, then I highly recommend Kimberly Thompson.

fleur de lisa cakes
( 5.0 / 5.0 )
We ordered our cake from Fleur de Lisa based on the amazing reveiws. We were planning our wedding from New York and there was no way we could make it out for a tasting ahead of time. I had seen all the wonderful press that Lisa has recieved about her cakes and also browsed as her gorgeous portfolio, so I booked and hoped for the best.

I was certain on the cake design (or rather my husband) didn't like the design that I wanted. I emailed Lisa and her team and they came up with a design that both my husband and I could compromise on. About three weeks before the wedding, I decided to change the design of our cake. Lisa and her team were totally understanding and delivered exactly what I requested on the day of the wedding.

The cake was delicious. Our guests especially raved about the strawberry sensation flavor. My only regret was that I didn't ask my venue to box up the extra for us and our guests. Lisa's cakes are pricier than some in the area, but they are well worth the extra cost.

Lisa is amazing. She is an absolute pleasure to work with and her talents speak for themselves. I was on a tight floral budget but I knew that I wanted real flowers. I contacted Lisa and she gave me a breakdown of cost for everything, and even suggested way that I could cut costs. After I signed our contract, Lisa arranged a phone interview to discuss details, since I was planning from New York. Lisa covered every detail and didn't seem annoyed that I didn't know exactly what I wanted or that I asked a ton of questions. As, I got further into our planning, I would email Lisa often with questions and changes. She had no problems giving me updated totals and answering my questions. She never got upset or annoyed, even in the end when we wind up sticking to our original contract and not adding any of the extra stuff she quoted me for. We had a slight payment issue, when I mistakenly forgot to sign the check I sent to her. Lisa was very cool about it(although it meant recieving final payment later than the contracted deadline).
The day of my wedding the flowers were absolutely gorgeous and delivered on time. My guests all commented on how beautiful the ceremony and reception decor was. I am 100% happy with the service I recieved from Lisa and would recommend her to anyone needing a florist in the Bay and surrounding areas.

Instep String Quartet
( 5.0 / 5.0 )
Katrina of Skyline String Trio is an amazingly talented musician and a professional to boot. I contacted her through gigmasters. She quoted me a great price for two hours of service for a violinist and cellist. She was one few who didn't have require extra travel fees or impose a minimum time limit for her performance. She was great at communicating. She always answered my emails in a timely fashion. She even answered my ridiculous email, about who would accompany her on our wedding, so that I could list them in our programs. A few weeks prior to the wedding I contacted her with a list of music for the ceremony and advised her that she had free reign for the cocktail hour, with the exception of two songs I wanted played. She had no problem honoring these requests. The music on the day of was beatiful. Katrina really knows her stuff and was right on beat with every song for each highlight in our ceremony. Unfortunately my husband and I didn't get to attend the cocktail hour but, everyone said the music was great and that they had a blast. I HIGHLY recommend Katrina to anyone who need musical services in the Bay and surounding areas.

Viansa Sonoma
( 4.8 / 5.0 )
We visited Viansa nearly three years before booking. The grounds are so breathtakingly beautiful, so it was our first choice. We worked with our coordinator Cortney (who is awesome)from New York to plan a intimate November wedding. From start to finish she was the utmost professional, answering all our emails and taking the time to call my hubby and I to for a phone conference.

On the day of our wedding, Viansa was just as beautiful as I remember it. The staff was great at accomodating our guests and just making sure all everything went smoothly. The food which is provided by Sage Catering is delicious. Everything was set up to my expectations and looked absolutely beautiful.

There is a minimum wine purchase and we did have a lot of extra wine left over which we gave to guests. Viansa is pricey, as are most of the venues in this region, but you will absolutely get what you pay for because I wedding was beautiful and went off with a hitch.

Wedding Atelier
( 4.0 / 5.0 )
I purchased my dress from Wedding Atelier in April 2009. Wedding Atelier is a beautifully elegant bridal salon tucked away in a small 5TH Avenue building. If you are looking for a large bridal salon experience this is not the place for you. The salon however is beautiful and immaculately kept. They have a large selection of gown, (I think about 15 different designers). Their price points and designers are mid-level to higher end. I had my first appoint in March and I took two of my best friends. My sales associates was Debra, she was very nice and very accomodating. I told Debra that my limit was $1800( including all taxes, and misc costs) . Their website said that they have gowns starting at $900, but when I got there I found out that those are generally the sample gowns are you have to be willing to pay upfront for them. Debra was very patient, she showed my a variety of gowns and even let my friends take pictures. I found a gown that I loved, and another gown that my friends loved. Debra advised me not to make a decision and come back for a follow up appt in 2 weeks. Before I left I asked about the prices of the gowns and how much I would have to put down and Debra assured that it would be in my budget. I returned for my follow up appt two weeks later and Debra immediately pulled the gown that my friends liked. I tried it on, and knew it wasn't the dress I wanted. I asked her about the other gown and she went and pulled it. Well I put on my gown and immediately knew it was the one. I told Debra I wanted to purchase and I was astonished to find that the gown I wanted was $2100 without taxes included. This bummed me out. Clearly she assumed that I would purchase the gown that my friends like which was actually in my budget. I only had a portion of the deposit, being that I didn't know the actual price of the gown and I had assumed it wouldn't be over $1800 and FI are not paying for anything on cc's. I explained this to Debra and she got the manager, who allowed me to put down a portion of the deposit with the understanding that I could put down the rest of the deposit in 2 weeks (big plus on their part). She also agreed to take off $200 on the dress, but because I'm under 5'2 required a $120 hallow to hem measurement, so with tax the dress still totaled around $2100. Fast forward September 2009, and my dress is finally here and I'm not 100% happy with it, though this may not be a vendor problem. I will update after I have revisted the store, but it seems like my dress has more beading than the original sample dress and the quality of the lace seems inferior to the sample dress. I can't wholeheartedly give 5 stars because I'm am very concerned with these two issues. Another small point to consider, is that they are very "sell-sy." They tried to push a $475 veil on me, which I thougth was utterly ridiculous as it was just a plain veil with faux pearls sewn on the edges. They also have a pretty expensive alterations charge - $475.

Signatures by Sarah
( 5.0 / 5.0 )
Sarah did an amazing job on my monograms. She was very easy to work with and her response time is amazing. I initally contacted her after seeing the monograms she did for another PW girl. I vaguely explained what I wanted and she responsed within hours. She assured me that she could design what I wanted and let me know that she was excited to do designs with my theme. She also let me know that she would have the first proofs within 48 hours (note her general time is 24 hours). True to her word, 2 days later I got the first set of proofs. She instructed me to let her know what I didn't like and she would make the changes. They wasn't really alot that I didn't like (they were all very nicely done). The following day she emailed me back with yet another set of designs to chose from. Again all very nicely done. I choose my top five designs, but again to my surprise, she threw in a extra. Her prices are very reasonable. If you know that your DIY monograms will look like DIY monograms, I encourage you to contact Sarah!
