Lori & Joseph

We were married in a small, intimate destination wedding on the Coconut Coast of Kauai.  Twenty-one guests joined us for a week of sun, fun and I do and it was truly was a dream come true for us.  After a week in Kauai, we had a five day minimoon in Maui.  The following are pictures from our Big Day as well as the trip to Kauai and Maui and my reviews and tips. Feel free to  borrow my photos but please credit my bio and my photographers (George Winters for Non Pro Pics and Jennifer Prater for Pro Pics).   You can always page PM me.

DW Guests
OOT Bags  Guest Book
OOT Bags
Since ours is a DW, we will do OOT bags for all of our guests...

I found these at Century Novelty for $1.00 each.
They are also on eBay or at Oriental Trading Company, but usually sell for about $3.00 each.

I found these HYP Beach Tote Bags at Denim Apparel, Inc for $7.99 each.
They are listed on other site for upwards of  $25 each.

I will probably get the Natural/Hawaiian Blue Print Ones, but the aqua is cute too:

I also found these HYP Reversable Terry Tote Bags, which are SUPER cute too!
But not as budget friendly...I cheapest I could find $14.43/ea. at Really Cool Tees
(Again selling on other sites for nearly $40!)
I may just get these for the families that are coming (we have a few couples that are bring their children)

I LOVE the Deep Orange Print/Hawaiian Blue!  (The Aqua/Chocolate ones are cute too!)

And HYP has coordinating beach towels...but they're close to $20 each!  So we won't be getting them...

But I did find these beach towels for under $50 for a dozen at United Textile Supply

You get three of each color.

Guest Book
And I scored 10, yes TEN, Polaroid One600 Ultra Cameras on eBay from another bride for $100.
We will use them at the welcome BBQ for a scavenger hunt and also for the guest book at the reception:

Right now I torn between going the Adesso route (kinda pricey!), or DIY!
Here are the casual pages from Guest Book Store:

This bride made her own version...SO cute!

And here is my DIY attempt (made on MSPublisher)...not as cute:

Ceremony Ideas
Ceremony Ideas photo 1Ceremony Ideas photo 2I found out from Manda at the Hukilau Lanai that the resort doesn't allow petals to be strewn on the lawn.  So...I am trying to think of some other way to "mark the spot".  For sure I will have parasols, at least for our female guests, which will allow some sun shade AND some color to the space...I think I will have a variety like this (blue, green and orange, not red):

These are from Pearl River Mart:

And these are from Luna Bazaar:

We will also do palm fans with ceremony programs.  We bought our Palm Fans at Bliss Wedding Market.

We will be married by our dear friend and are writing our own ceremony and vows.  When we got engaged, Joseph and I decided not to have a formal bridal party with bridesmaids and groomsmen.  So, since we don't have a wedding party we have asked our guests to wear "Resort Whites"....this is the look we are going for:

We plan to have a lei exchange between ourselves and also with our guests (thanks MauidAims for the idea);
and Hand Ceremony and Ring Warming.  Not sure if we'll do the Sand Ceremony too.
For the Ring Warming, we will pass the rings around in a shell, like this:

And we will have our chairs arranged in a circle
(except I hope to only have one row all the way around, so all of our guest have a "front row" seat!):

I love the bamboo poles with flowers that this wedding had, which would easily translate into our colors
with Green Cymbidums and Orange Roses.  BUT, Joseph vetoed the poles!
