I had three bridesmaids, all of various sizes. I took my maid of honor there to choose a dress for the girls. There was a very wide selection of styles with lots of different colors. We were greeted by a salesperson shortly after entering the store. The one thing I liked was this salesperson was not too pushy and let us look around on our own but was easily accessible to answer questions when we had them. We chose a one-piece apple red, satin A-line dress with some embroidery in the front and an envelope back. I also bought my wedding shoes from here. The shoes were a bit expensive for the short amount of time I wore them. I wore them for the ceremony, pictures, and dinner and first dancebut changed into slippers for dancing. I give Davids a 4 because everything was available at a decent price and suited my needs, but nothing really wowed me.

Imperial Gown Restorations
More information on this vendor can be found at www.gown.com. This was my horror story of the wedding. I wanted to wear my mothers dress but we needed to alter it a bit to fit me better. This involved making the sleeves and back mesh panels wider, fix the front panel, and make bustle for the train. My mom found this vendor online and was impressed that they had been featured on Oprah. I was away at school before the wedding so they were willing to work with us a little and always had appointments open when I was home. However, over 6 months the seamstresses changed 3 times. Work that was supposed to be completed when I went in was not done. The front beading/panel was also supposed to be rounded morebut looking back on my wedding pictures I look like I have Madonna torpedo boobs at some points. The owner did appease us for some of the mess-ups with a free beaded/bridal cowboy hat he had in his store. But when my mom came to pick up the dress (after having fully paid for it at a prior visit) the store clerk demanded another payment, when my mom protested the owner came out and actually cussed my mom out and threw her out of the store with the dress. I was utterly disgusted when I heard this! And then at the wedding the train didnt even stay bustled up! I had to hold it on my arm the entire night! So in the end we paid over $1100 for alterations of poor quality and horrible customer service by a reputable vendor. I would not recommend this place at all! The only reason I didnt give them a 1 is because there were some accommodations made in the beginning that I will give minute credit for.

After Hours Tuxedo Rental
We rented the mens tuxes from After Hours Formalwear at Dulles Town Center in Leesburg. We had the groom, three groomsmen, a ring bearer, and both the bride and grooms fathers as well as the brides brother. This was a total of 8 tuxes. I believe the grooms tux was free. Everyone got pants, jacket, shoes, a vest and tie. The groom wore white; the groomsmen, ring bearer, and brides brother wore red, and the fathers wore a champagne vest and tie. Only three of the tuxes were local but I was able to call in the out-of-town measurements. The boys picked up their tuxes the day before the wedding and returned them the day after. I believe the final cost was somewhere between $60-75 per person and the grooms was free I think. Clothing was of fine quality. The shoes were not comfortable, the groom complained his toes were squished in the front.

You can find out more information about this site at http://www.whitehallevents.com/. My dream for a wedding was to get married at an old historic house. This place fit my vision perfectly. The old house was built in stages starting in the Revolutionary War through the Civil War. My caterer owns the property and had just put on a new addition/function room in 2006. We were lucky and signed our rental contract before the addition was finished so were able to take advantage of lower rates. It was still quite expensive about $3500 for a Sunday evening. This gave us time for the ceremony and a four hour reception. The staff was very accommodating and let me come out the week before for bridal portraits. We were married in the front yard under the yard arch (the staff was even nice enough to leave some beautiful decorations on the arch for our wedding that I would have never been able to afford.) The event captain was wonderful and took care of everything. There is a smaller dance room that has windows into the large function space for eating. The layout was perfect for our small wedding (75ppl). Due to the popular time of year and two Saturday weddings we had to do our rehearsal at 7:30am and couldnt come onsite to setup until 1.5 hours before the ceremony. This made it tough to set all of our stuff up, since we did all the decorations ourselves. We were allowed to bring items the day before (when we did the rehearsal). I would highly recommend this place to everyone! It is absolutely beautiful and the staff is top-notch.
