I got the dress on September 12, 2009! It's Casablanca 1827, and I bought the sample right off the rack and got to take it home that day!!! It's everything I wanted in a dress: sparkly but not heavy, romantic but still a little sexy, light and summery but still elegant. It really just spoke to me...lol
Sorry for the crappy self-taken pic, but I'll post better ones at a later date:
And here's one on the model...it's a slighty drop waisted dress (which I NEVER thought I would like/look good on me), and the top is beaded with rhinestones/crystals, and just below the hips, there is a layer of lace that flows out all around, and has a chapel length train. I need to get it hemmed and bustled, otherwise (knock on wood) no other alterations!
I can't wait to wear it, I love it soooooooooo much!!!!!!!!!!

Also, I bought these shoes, and I could not have found shoes that are more ME! Probably will only be able to get through the ceremony with these...yowza! *They are, ahem, REPLICA CL's, btw!* :)
The dress with shoes!
Update, here are some smaller heels that I might put on if my rockin' CLs hurt my feet throughout the evening:
Around $40, DSW
Just got these earrings...and of course had to try them on with my dress! Excuse bathroom photo shoot...lol...
Hair Flower, from Etsy:

Just picked up these brooches too; not sure which one to use on my bouquet? First one is from Dillards, and the second is from Target (it's supposed to be for your stocking...lol):
Our reception will take place at the Carpenter's Union Hall in St. Louis. We're getting the rental for such a steal, it's definitely going to help our budget! Plus, we can bring in our own catering company, bartenders, and cake- I'm excited to truly do things our way!
Here are some pictures of the hall- completely un-decorated and totally lit.... so use your imagination! :)
Ceremony will take place at Lafayette Park in St. Louis, MO
We're getting married in front of the lake/fountain, and making the most of the great photo ops before the ceremony!
We've hired Celebrant Lamira Martin (http://www.yourceremonyyourway.com/) to perform our ceremony. She's wonderful and we can't wait to work with her! Still not sure which ritual we'll perform at the ceremony- neither of us are religious, so something along the lines of a sand ceremony- but we still have a little time to nail that down!
Here is a pic of me and my sister (filling in for FI). Here's where we'll be for the ceremony, with the wedding party on either side.
And here is a straight on view, where we will set up chairs and have the aisle- imagine no leaves on the ground and some green on the trees! :)
*On our third date
The story begins with two out of towners relocating to Chicago. Frank had recently moved to Illinois (in Wheeling, a Northwest Chicago suburb) from Wisconsin, and I had recently moved to the Chicago suburbs (Oak Park) from DeKalb upon graduating college. Both being new in town, we explored "old school" ways of meeting people and dating. After failed attempts, we both decided to try something a little more "cutting edge", and joined date.com. Frank sent me a message on a Wednesday, and I was intrigued by his sense of humor. We exchanged messages for a few days, and then Frank called me on Sunday. We ended up staying on the phone for 4 hours, and decided to go on a date the following Tuesday.
Frank & I went on our first date on March 22, 2006. After work, I drove up to Wheeling from Downer's Grove and met Frank at his (one year later, it would be "our") apartment. Frank, being the modern guy that he is, decided that instead of doing traditional flowers on the first date, he would instead make me a compilation cd that had some music on it that we had discussed during the 4 hour phone call. I loved this unique & original gesture! We went to dinner at Buca di Beppo, where I impressed Frank with my bottomless appetite and love of Miller Lite. After that, we tried to go get ice cream at Coldstone (fatties!) but since it was closed, ended up going to Oberweiss instead. The date was full of laughter and discovering that we had a lot of things in common. This lead to another date a couple of days later, then Frank asking when he was going to get to be my "bofo", and shortly after, both of us canceling our date.com memberships. ;)
