We are getting married in a photography and video studio. Sounds odd, but the space is amazing and since we both work in the field, the venue fits us perfectly. After the ceremony, guests will enjoy cocktail hour while the caterers "flip" the room for the reception.
The venue is pretty much a blank canvas to decorate to your hearts desire. The owner is an amazing photographer and he agreed to take our pictures for us. His work is phenomenal. I can't wait!!
(these are just a couple of different ways brides decided they want their reception to look)
(if these are your pics, please let me know and I'll give you credit)
Our caterers are amazing. Since we wanted our guests to experience the venue, we decided to do food stations for our reception. Each station will be set up in a different room and guests can just mill around going from station to station or bring their food back to their table.
The owner of the studio recommended the caterers and said their food was great. Honestly, in the back of my mind, I was expecting our food to taste like "catered" food. Boy, was I wrong! The food was out of this world! We had our tasting and we were completely blown away. Here are a few pics of our tasting.
I...LOVE...MY...RING!! G designed it himself. I still get butterflies in my stomach every time I look down at it.
We went back to the same jeweler for our bands. These are a little different than our actual bands but the closest pics I can find.
G and I met at work. He was a freelancer for us and one of my co-workers was heading to law school, so we had a good-bye lunch for her that day. We sat next to each other but because he was shy and I had a horrible toothache that day, and didn't feel like talking to anyone, we didn't say a word to one another. After work we had a happy hour for the same co-worker and G showed up. We ended up talking this time and I was completely enamored by him at the end of the night. Now 4 years later, we're getting married!!! Good things come to those who wait.
G's proposal caught me completely by surprise. We had talked about getting married and had even gone to look at rings, but I wasn't anticipating a proposal any time soon. I came home from work on a Friday and we had plans to go out to dinner that night. I had just hung my coat up and bent down to say "hi" to Rocco and G was on his knee. I thought he was going to pet Rocco too, but instead he proposed (with Rocco jumping around us.) It was perfect. Later on he told me he wanted to tie the ring around Rocco's collar, but he was afraid that he would try to chew it. :)
I love my dress!! I tried it on again the other night and I didn't want to take it off. I'm thinking of altering the neckline to be a sweetheart neckline. It's too big right now, but this is the designer's one and only dress so I couldn't get one in my size. I asked if altering it would change the dress too much, but the lady at the bridal store said no. She was so helpful. She actually found this gown for me. I went in with a completely different dress in mind (still trumpet/mermaid, but a lot more plain.) After trying on that dress, she told me that ever since I described to her the kind of dress I wanted, she had one in mind and would I mind if she pulled it. I said no and she came out with my dress. She told me she loved the dress but a lot of girls wouldn't try it on because of the style. When it's fitted correctly, the bodice is tight and the bottom of the dress is very "pouffy". I love it!!! My first fitting is May 30th. I can't wait.
My little baby Rocco. Growing up, we never had a dog, so when I decided to get one almost 4 years ago, I was so nervous that I almost didn’t go back to pick him up from the breeder! Now, I can’t even imagine what life would be like without him!
