The ceremony will be held at my church, where we reconnected! It will probably begin around 3pm or 4pm and this may depend on where we hold the reception. I have a few ideas in my mind but nothing concrete right now.
I am definitely a bride on a budget, so luckily for me (Reggie and my family) I have been planning for a while. So I have purchased many things already that I know I wanted and saved a lot already buy shopping at Ross, using craft store coupons and shopping in the clearance section.
Our color scheme is purple, lavender, silver and white. Purple is my favorite color and I always knew that it would be my wedding color, and it I love that it a royal, regal color. I will incorporate different shades of purple, especilally through the flowers. Pics of these things are to follow in the near future.
I really want to have an ice cream bar at our reception. Reggie hasn't rejected the idea so I think we may be able to do so, and I have so many ideas for it. And it will give me a really good reason to use my cricut expression and my xyron sticker maker ;-)!
Reggie and I actually met in high school and were a part of the same group of friends, so we became friends. We really began hanging out with our mutual friends more after I graduated and he was a senior. He had a thing for me back then but I was dating someone else at the time. I went to college the spring after I graduated and he went to a different college that following fall. We kept in touch here and there and through mutual friends over the course of about 9 years. So in April of 2010, Reggie showed up at my church one sunday but I could not get his attention and couldn't find him after the service. So I decided to text him and hoped I still had the right number and said, "how are you gonna come to my church and not say hi?" He responded, "I thought that was you, but you were sitting next to some old guy." We decided to meet up at the Ale House and we called our regular group of friends to come but they couldn't make it, so it ended up just being Reggie and I. We hung out more and more and after our trip to the beach, I knew something more was there. We made it official in November and the rest as they say is history!
Reggie told me that I am his dream girl and he finally got me, even though it took 10 years, lol! And to this day he will never let me forget that it took 10yrs to get me :-)!
Reggie is also a product of the military and was born overseas. He is the youngest of two boys and spends a lot of time with his brother. His family settled in NC many years ago and he has completed some college but is now working in the military and working towards finishing his degree.
I'm Shamara and I am what people would consider an army brat. I am the youngest of two girls and love to spoil my nieces and nephews. Once my mother decided to retire, we moved to NC, since that is where my parents are originally from. I graduated from ECU and I am currently working at a facility for survivors of traumatic brain injuries. My best friend and I decided to start our own event planning business (and possibly cake decorating) and can't wait for it to jump start and grow! H² Event Planning is up and running! So falling in love with the most wonderful man ever, came at the right time since he will get to benefit from my planning skills!
