I planned my wedding in about 4 months and had such great vendors, I think because I got married on a Friday (saved bucko bucks) and all of the good vendors were still available!
P.S. I am SO glad I planned it in a short time, what is there to wait for!? I also didn’t have any time to change my mind a gazillion timeS AND it took less pressure off of me, because I planned it so fast, I didn’t spend a TON of time on it, and everything was still PERFECT! Happy Planning!
Heath had told me the Wednesday before that we were going to go to a 'car show' on Saturday morning and I had to wake up early. Let me tell you how excited I was about that... I decided Thursday that I was going to have a little get together at our house on Friday night with some of my friends. (later I found out this sent Heath in to panic mode because he had the whole weekend planned, or so he thought, and I threw a wrench in everything with my love to entertain!) Heath attempted to wake me up that Saturday morning at 6 a.m. after a night of fun with my closest friends. (Not an easy task, for all of you who know me) :-) Of course I said no way, I am not getting up for anything, I have only had a couple hours of sleep. After several minutes of arguing about me getting out of bed, he finally said, "Ok, what if I told you I was lying and you HAVE to get up because we are getting on a plane in a couple of hours, going away for 4 days and you still need to pack some bags." Being the stubborn girl that I am, I still didn't believe him and thought it was all still a ploy to get me up to go to this...car show. After about 10 minutes of throwing the covers over my head, I finally, relentlessly agreed to get in the shower, still not believing him. When I got out of the shower all of our luggage bags were laying on the bed, his completely packed. Bailey's bag was packed and before I knew it, his parents were at the door ready to take us to the airport. Ok, now I believed him...I asked "What about work, I can't not go in!" He assured me he had taken care of everything, in fact he had asked permission from my bosses weeks in advance. What an amazing guy! :) So now we are on our way to the airport, and I still have no clue what is going on, half asleep and thinking this must be a dream. We arrive at the airport, and this is when I find out we are going to New York City!!!!! One of my FAVORITE places in the country! Is he awesome or what???? We arrive in New York City in the evening, get to our fabulous hotel in Soho...check in, drink some champagne they gave us when we checked in... I still have my 'airplane clothes on, because he said we would just get dinner and walk around a little bit. We head out for dinner, find a local bar/restaurant and have a casual dinner. After dinner, Heath asked me what I wanted to do, I was fine with walking around and looking in the shops...about 10 minutes after this, he said he 'suddenly had a great idea.' We hailed a taxi and we were off to the Empire State Building. I have been to New York once, and had never seen the Empire State Building, so I was thrilled. It was about 11:00 p.m., and I was concerned it would be closed, but we went anyway. We walk up to get tickets and he pulls some out of his pocket...ah ha! he had this planned, little stinker...but I still had no idea....I promise! We get to the top, walk around in the freezing cold...it was snowing on top of the building! It was a beautiful night, crystal clear and not too many people around because it was so late. At about 11:30 (the Empire State Building closes at 11:45) he found a perfect spot and told me he had yet ANOTHER surprise for me! He got down on his knee with people around us (this is BIG for Heath, because he is quite a shy guy) said wonderful things about us, opened the box with the BEAUTIFUL ring (which had a light in it - perfect! because of it being dark outside...again...isn't he amazing!) and asked me to marry him...After tears of joy, I replied "Of course I will" We couldn't wipe the smiled off of our faces for the next 4 days in New York...I didn't want the perfect romantic fairy tale trip to ever end...
