For a while I have been thinking on Favors and how I should do it. I really want to go on a different path but not to crazy with ideas for the wedding. Things that people will remember. So I originally thought of doing a Candy buffet, I seen it at one wedding and I know I loved it! I'm trying to keep this wedding to be not to spendy. So I was looking at candy buffet pictures and then I saw a picture of cookies! Thinking that would be so awesome since its in the Fall time of year. I have this friend who really loves to bake and I'm sure she could help me. So I've decided on it I'm doing a Cookie buffet!
Bob and I Fell in love with The Ballroom at Greysolon Plaza, Its conveniently located in Downtown Duluth, MN. It has a historic feel to it. I fell in love with the Chandeliers and how spacious it is. The Ballroom can hold up to 400 guest. We are planning on 300 guest. I like the fact that I don't have to do too much decorating because the room itself is so well designed.
For Colors, It will be a Fall wedding, but i didn't want to go traditional fall colors, like Orange, Red, and yellow. I want something not too bright but color to stand out. So Bob and I like Natural colors so I thought about Brown Long bridesmaid dresses, with White and Green flowers.
Bobby proposed in March during a game of Yahtzee. It was a Sunday after my Dad came up to visit us and he asked me if I wanted to play any board games. I was a little shocked cause it was March madness and we missed some Games earlier in the day so I thought he would want to watch ESPN highlights of basketball games he missed. So I said sure and I said I didn't care what kind of game we played. He went over to his Parents, who live next door, and grabbed Yahtzee. We played a game and we were on our second game. I was busy texting my friend, and then it was my turn. I took the dice and shook the cup and rolled the dice on the table, and a ring popped out. I was so shocked that I asked him What that was and he said it was a ring, then said yeah but what kind of ring is that, and he said its an engagement ring, Will you Marry Me? I started bawling my eyes out and said Yes.
Prior to the proposal that Sunday, that weekend was the first weekend that my Dad met Bobby's parents and everything went really good. I had to work one day and Bobby asked my dad if he could marry his daughter and my dad said of course! Then Bobby told my dad that he would like him to be there when he does propose to me but my dad said that would be too emotional! I'm my dads only kid.
Why Bobby picked Yahtzee and this totally never phased me until he told me. Is because When I first liked Bobby I invited him over to my friends house to watch a movie or play games. That was the first time I ever asked him outside of work to hang out and he came over to my friends and we ended up playing Yahtzee. I won every game we played! But he linked our first date and proposal together and it was super sweet. He didn't get down on one knee but there's no other better way I would have wanted to be asked!
At the time of Meeting Bobby, we both worked at CellularOne in Duluth, MN in the Call Center, but today its AT&T. We both worked there for a while but never talked, they switched employees all over the place to different cubicles. Well we got moved by each other. We ended up talking all the time, telling jokes, he would tell the funniest stories. I knew he had just gotten out of a relationship, so wasn't sure if he was just being nice or flirting with me but it got to the point where every morning he went to Starbuck or Caribou coffee he would ask me if I would like him to pick one up for me too. So then I was thinking well he has to like me, right? Well to later find out he was just being nice. He wasn't looking to date anyone at the time. But I really twisted his arm though. I kept trying to get him to hang out with a group of us from work outside of work. So one night we all went bowling for my friends birthday and I figured if he shows up to this that has to mean he likes me! Well I was on my way over to the bowling alley and I called my friend Pati to see if he was there and she said I'm sorry he's not. She knew I was starting to like him so I was just about to get off the phone with her, then she said OMG you will never believe who just walked through the door, yup it was Bobby. That made my night and we hung out, bowled a few games and had a blast. We ended up going to my friends house after bowling. So after that night we hung out more and more and the rest is history. Now he's my best friend, and the one I'm going to spend the rest of my life with!
