The sanctuary is stunning and large enough to hold a good size crowd. The Bridal room is where the adult choir preps Sunday mornings so it is huge, has its own bathroom, a large wall vanity and another wall with floor length mirrors. The Groom's room is separate and from what my husband said is about the same in accommodations. They provided pew candles, a kneeling bench and candelabras. A wedding coordinator comes with the cost of the church. She coordinates the rehearsal and ceremony and sets up additional decorations (not flowers).

Crowning Glory Designs
Before you buy an expensive veil at a Bridal Salon, take a trip to see Candi. She is a super talented lady (and a sense of humor to boot) that can probably make your dream veil for a fraction of the cost. Like most wedding vendors, if you have a picture of a veil you like (whether it's the back or front or how it falls on someone) bring it with you. One of the many benefits of working with Candi is you get a custom veil made specifically for you-- so if you want it to fall a certain way around your face or down the back of your dress, she can cut the veil to do just that. If you are looking to have your communion veil incorporated into your wedding veil, Candi can do this too. When I picked up my veils, she was finishing another stunning veil for a bride who was using the fabric from her mother's veil that had been improperly stored (meaning it had holes) and Candi managed to make the veil look brand-spanking new. Just go see her, and you'll see why we all love her. She rocks the veil world!

Where to begin with Gene and Linda's talent? They are a dynamic husband/wife duo that makes you feel like you've known each other for the past 20 years. I was timid to take my photos, but Linda and Gene were fantastic and very professional. Gene is the amazing behind the camera eye while Linda is the amazing in-front of the camera eye, making sure everything is just perfect for each pose. The pictures turned out amazing; far better than I ever thought were possible. I highly recommend them.

I loved our flowers! Leanna and her team at Bella Blooms did a fantastic job with everything. I hired Bella Blooms about one year before our wedding and preceded to change my mind on flowers/colors/inspiration at least a dozen times. She was always very patient, gave creative ideas and possibilities every time. She worked within my budget and delivered far beyond what I had ever imagined! Their pricing is incredible for the arrangements, quality and quantity of flowers I received. My parents enjoyed the centerpieces intact for at least a week before they started to wither. Everything was just spot on perfect and stunning! She has an amazing creative eye and keen ability to take into account the other elements of your wedding to make a centerpiece or bouquet that is stunning. I highly recommend Bella Blooms.

In The Now Weddings and Events
I did all the design and preparation for our wedding. I gave Amanda very detailed instructions for setting up our Reception. If you have questions about any design details or design set-up, please email me. In an industry where event planners are a dime a dozen, Amanda Auer stands out. I hired Amanda as my Day of Coordinator about one month before the wedding and was impressed with her ability to jump in at the last minute and pick up the endless number details and vendor contacts I had for our wedding. I had hundreds of set-up details for our ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner/dancing locations and she executed them all perfectly. (In addition to a walk thru at the venue, I gave Amanda detailed lists of where items went, photos of the venue with detailed decor drawings, painstakingly organized and labeled boxes of decorations, etc. This was crucial, I believe, to our wedding details being set-up exactly as we had planned-- and she followed everything perfectly.) She made sure I did not miss a single event of the day or detail in planning and also made certain that I had the most incredible wedding possible. I highly recommend working with Amanda to any Bride, no matter how far they are into their planning process.

Our reception was an incredible party and everyone had a wonderful time! However, we were disappointed in the dj we hired, even though he came highly recommend by some colleagues. The cost was average and included unlimited hours and two separate systems (which was necessary for our set-up). We were very clear from the beginning that we wanted to control what songs he would be playing at the wedding reception and he was 100% ok with this. We provided our DJ from Extreme, Eric, with an extensive song list (that would last someone nearly 10 hours, so plenty of songs) 5 weeks prior to our wedding and he told us he received it and was all set with the songs. At 3:30pm on the Friday before our wedding (and less than one hour before our rehearsal), Eric calls my husband to tell him that he couldn't open the attachment we sent him 5 weeks ago and asked if he could send it again. My husband scrambled to get him the information and had it to him by 4:30pm-- and somehow my amazing husband still made it to the rehearsal calm and collected. Eric spent the rest of the evening calling both of us and leaving questions on our voicemails. (note: this was the evening of our wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. Eric had confirmed with both our Day of Coordinator and us prior to this day that he did indeed have the song list and was all prepped for our wedding.) Fast forward to wedding day and here is the short version: he was very flustered the entire evening, often scrambling to figure out the next song, thus ad-libbing between songs even though we specifically asked that there was no random "wedding ad-libbing comments," he mispronounced my parents first and last names (my parents have simple names and their last name is not uncommon) when he introduced them, introduced my mother-in-law with my mother's first name, introduced my dad a second time incorrectly, (at this point our guests were laughing so hard and correcting him, it was comical), he did not stick to the song list we gave him thus playing songs we did not want played at the wedding, constantly asked my husband and I questions throughout the night (even though our doc and we had told him to coordinate everything with her, not us), etc. The reception was an amazing party and the mistake our guests still remember is the name announcements. We hired our DJ 10 months prior to our wedding and gave him every piece of information he requested well before the wedding so these mistakes would not happen. I can only speak of our experience with this one DJ from this company. From this experience, I would not recommend this company. The mistakes the DJ made are mistakes that should not happen at any event when you are paying a professional DJ.

Strawberry Farms Golf Club
I adore the setting. If you've never been, it's stunning and unique for Southern California. We hosted cocktail hour on the veranda and dinner and dancing in the barn. Everyone, including us, had a fabulous time and we are still receiving notes and compliments. My husband and I put 12 months of very detailed planning into making the veranda, the barn and the pathway between exactly what we wanted. We hired a day of coordinator to set everything up. Our preparation paid-off big-time and made the celebration one that was not only stunning, but memorable for everyone. Day-of the wedding, the food we choose to serve was delicious-- both during cocktail hour and dinner. If you want specifics on food, email me. SFGC provided some exceptional backgrounds for photography (their landscaping) and were accommodating to our desire to utilize their space (gave us golf carts to get to the 10th hole lake, let us take photos on the greens, etc). Sometime in late summer, SFGC hired a second coordinator, Summer. She was incredible to work with and ended up working our wedding day because we had a more elaborate set-up than typical, bringing in cocktail tables and such. Summer was awesome and very helpful. SFGC was great with providing any rentals we needed-- linens, glasses, place settings, etc were included in the contract, however we wanted additional stand heaters for the veranda, cocktail tables and cocktail linens, spot lighting, a cake stand, etc. They coordinated all this, which was super helpful. The barn comes with a pre-decorated ceiling- the twinkle lights you see in the photos. They are even more stunning in person. In terms of decorations, SFGC was very open to anything, as long as nothing damaged the property. We had rose petals everywhere, more candles than one can count, bathrooms full of candles and rose petals, lanterns everywhere, etc. A Few Cons In comparison to other events I've hosted and coordinated, SFGC significantly under staffs their weddings (basically 1 server per 45-50 people, plus 1 bartender per 100 people). It showed significantly in their service at the reception. It took about 20-25 minutes to get water glasses refilled. The SFGC staff took 50 minutes to have the first piece of cake at a guest's seat once we cut the cake. SFGC disappointed on their tray passed appetizer selection. At our tasting, we were served Costco and Trader Joes frozen appetizers that were marked up to $2-$7 per piece- spinach quiche, bbq beef kabobs, meat balls, egg quiche, Mexican egg rolls, etc.

Berit is amazing. I did two trials with her because I was so unsure of the exact look I wanted for the big day. Both days, I brought photos and she also had photos. She really listened to me, which I felt was super important for someone who does not wear a lot of make-up on a daily basis. The wedding day look she created for me felt really natural. I did not feel done-up or like I had stage make-up on. It stayed on all day-- she finished my make-up at 12pm, touched up my blush and lipstick at 3:30pm. Other than that, I never reapplied anything- it last all night! She uses stellar products (Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown, MAC, Giorgio, Channel, etc) and is exceptional at what she does. She did the make-up of nearly all my attendants and my mom. I cannot say too many times how much we all appreciated that she listened to us when we gave her likes/dislikes of certain make-up applications (like I don't like clumpy eye lashes and I need lots of blush on my pale skin; some of the girls wanted lighter eyes, some wanted darker, etc). For a nominal fee she met us at the church and did touch-ups on everyone too. She was simply a delight to work with her studio is a dream studio in Laguna Beach-- looks onto the hills and ocean. You feel like you are at some retreat when you are there! I'll let the photos speak for her work- I've included several in my Project Wedding bio.

Jonilyn is an incredibly talented photographer with an incredible eye for details. We worked with her as our "details" photographer and are so impressed with every photo she took-- the details of our florals, dresses, decor, etc to group shots and guest reactions. Her photos far surpassed those of our "main" photographer in quality, artistic talent and capturing the raw emotion of our wedding day. I cannot express in words alone how overjoyed I am to have worked with her! She is professional, attentive, creative and diligent. We will work with her again for other parties and family moments. My brother has already hired her for his wedding! Jonilyn's work speaks for itself and I 100% highly recommend her to other Brides without hesitation.

Tara has been styling my hair for about 10 years, so it was only appropriate that she did my wedding hair too! I was blown away with what she did with my very fine hair. She is a magician with hair-- very talented and creative. Tara did all but three of my attendants hair, plus Mom, flower girl and mine. You'll notice that everyone has a different hair style. No one had any idea of how they wanted to wear their hair and I didn't care, so Tara worked her magic. She did 10 hair-dos in 5 hours (she did bring an assistant who prepped some of the girls- curling, etc), including taking a full hour on me. Tara also came to the church and did one last once-over before the ceremony. the photos speak of tara's work. she is amazing, very professional, reasonably priced (for the bride it was $85, bridesmaids were $65, flowergirl was like $40)

I cannot say enough positive words about these guys. I've been printing invitations, brochures and the like for years and stumbled across them when I started planning our wedding. The quality of their letterpress is excellent- deep imprinting, high quality coloring and thick paper. They were fast with the printing and I felt their pricing was incredibly reasonable. I worked with Bob and Damian- both gave excellent customer service. I've already used them again and printed an invitation for bridal shower I'm hosting. I just love their work! Note to the non-design savvy: for a nominal fee, they will design your invitation for your.
