I had my wedding here. It was absolutely beautiful. It's expensive and a little bit of a tricky locale (no kitchen, no anything, so everything's rented), however, we were resourceful and able to finagle some other wedding details in order to come in under our budget. (yay.) If you have any questions, I had a lot of trouble finding out info about this place, so give me a ping. :)

Liliana Pennington

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
I am recommending Liliana as a fantastic option for Sonoma/Napa brides! I had my trial with her last week for make-up and hair. (She does trials out of salons in both Napa and Yountville, but she's traveling to our site to work on the day.) I am pretty picky about my hair, and she got it almost perfect on the first try. She's a cracker jack make-up artist--she has a great eye, and when I didn't like something, she worked on it again until I was satisfied. I've posted pics on my bio, so have a peek! Toast me for any questions...

DJ Dave Tutton

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
Dave Tutton is a DJ genius!!! Let me just say that, at first, we were going to do the ipod thing. Then we came into an extra 1,000 or so that we hadn't anticipated and I started begging my FI for a dj. I just really wanted guests to have fun and let loose. I started researching and somehow (grace of God??) found Dave!! We had a Sunday night wedding with tons of family who in general "don't dance" and THE FLOOR WAS PACKED all night!! Don't give Dave a long must-play list; he is so good at feeling out and working the crowd, just let him work his magic. You will NOT be sorry if you book with Dave! People of all ages were movin' and groovin'. He is the consummate professional and has worked parties for Diana Krall, the Coppola's etc. He doesn't do long intros, etc. He prefers to just play music. Google him or ping me if you want more info!

These guys are doing our photography, too, and we couldn't be more excited! Though we haven't had our wedding or e-pic session yet, I can comment on the professionalism they've displayed thus far (promptly returning calls, answering questions adequately, accomodating requests). I stalk their blog regularly, and we are really looking forward to having them capture our day. (I will update my review after our wedding!) NB: These guys went out of business this summer. 9/25/09

Forget-Me-Knots Bridal

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
This is where I ended up ordering my gown! I loved that this place is small and didn't have an overwhelming number of choices (maybe 30 well-selected gowns). The lighting is fantastic (daylight streaming through the front window). The salon also worked with me on the price, which was great, throwing in some of the custom modifications I wanted for free! I will ammend this review when I finally get the gown... :) 10/29/07 UPDATE: My dress came in EXACTLY when they said it would and it was exactly as I'd ordered!!! Great service, thank you!

Dori Anne Veils

( 4.0 / 5.0 )
I ended up at Debra's because I was working in the East Bay and had not even started looking at veils. I thought a place in Castro Valley with "veil" in the name may be a good start. She had a good selection of veils, and encouraged me to try on a wedding dress she had with a similar neckline to see if it might be good with my dress. I agree with a previous reviewer that, at first, she seemed cold, but she was warm and nice and soo helpful once she "warmed up" to us a bit. She wasn't impatient at all about me trying and retrying things, and even gave me a few mini catalogues to help me with my PITA bridesmaid dress search. I bought a gorgeous veil at Debra's and walked out with it that day!

California Wine Tours

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
We hired a "bus" from California Wine Tours to take us and about 24 guests for a wine tour the day before the wedding. Our driver was on-time, flexible, and extremely friendly. We were happy with the value we got. (I think it was around $700 for five hours. Our guests all chipped in.)
