We were originally planning to get married on 10.09.10 however upon further review of the fall's football schedule we rescheduled for 10.23.10, as the Michigan vs. Michigan State game is on 10.09.10.
We have always known we wanted a fall wedding. We didn't want to be sweating in the summer heat nor interfere with our snowmobiling season.
We are slowly planning details but have decided on a casual affair with approximately 150-200 close family and friends. We live in a small town that does not provide a lot of venues and we didn't want a destination wedding so we have decided to have it at the local VFW hall!!!
We are setting a budget of $4000 but with a lot of DIY projects planned, we think we can do it!
Our colors are brown, ivory, and tan with accents of burnt orange and shades of red. (Think fall colors.. these swatches are not exact but you can get an idea.
We are going for a rustic decor with touches of antlers. We are both hunters and don't want to go redneck wedding style but do want touches of our hobbies.
My aunt is making our cake! She has years of experience and we are looking forward to it! Here is the cake and we hope to make this cake stand, however we want to carve our initials into it such as in the second picture.
We will have alternating centerpieces. The base of grapevine with antlers with have branches out of the top.
All four of my girls have completely diffrent body types so we allowed them to pick their own dress as long as it was long in length and the same color of David's Bridal Latte.
The boys will be wearing chocolate brown tuxes. The groom will were an ivory vest and the groomsmen will wear latte vest.
I believe I will be DIYing these but haven't decided on exactly what I want yet. Below are some ideas.
