We live near Ithaca, NY.....home to Cornell University, Ithaca College and more gorges and watefalls than pretty much anywhere. We both love the outdoors. He is an incessant golfer (and quite good at it). I know I'm 'supposed' to say that because he is my hubby to be but he really is better than most of his buddies but he has a quiet confidence. I do the bragging for him. I took up golf before I met him but have gotten better with his help. I enjoy it but am not a fanatic.
We share a love of dry red and white wines. Being from the Finger Lakes Region makes it easy and well, expensive at times. We love venturing out any time we have a couple of extra hours to hit some of our favorites. We also received kayaks last year as gifts and are just learning the ropes of that.
He works for a small micro-engineering firm in Ithaca, NY and I help promote tourism in the Finger Lakes...not a bad gig at all!
We 'met' online through Yahoo of all dating sites. We were both ready to give up hope after trying match.com & eharmony but decided reluctantly to give Yahoo ONE try. Thank heavens we did!! Now I am with the most honest, kindest man I've ever met and get to spend the rest of my life having his babies and hanging out with him. The saying THANK YOU YAHOO!!!! is frequently said in our house.
Our families and friends are unbelievably excited that we have found each other and are tying the knot. Believe you me, it has been a LONG road for both of us, lol. Our date is September 18, 2010 with the ceremony in Watkins Glen and the reception in Ithaca, NY. I'm just excited that he is helping with most of the planning. I don't have to shoulder it all by myself and I love that he wants to be as hands on as he is! Of course that is one of the reasons I fell in love with him.
