The things I learned: 1) No matter how calm you may be as the bride, there will always be people around you who are stressing out. 2) Yoga followed by massage is the perfect way to remain focussed and calm on your wedding day. :) 3) Despite the painstaking detail you may have taken in your planning or how well you communicated, people will still make mistakes, include colors you did not want and generally do it their way. 4) Polaroid Guest Books are the best!!! We have had a great time flipping through ours, and it has been a real keepsake. My parents keep requesting it so they can show their friends. NIGHT BEFORE ADVICE FROM A COORDINATOR: 1) Get a good night sleep (even if you have to take Tylenol PM). 2) Eat a large breakfast the morning of your wedding (that might be the only chance you'll have to eat all day). 3) Drink a lot of water and stay hydrated. 4) Use the bathroom before you put that dress on!!!
We got married on Labor Day Weekend in Dana Point, CA 2004 at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort and Spa. It was an outdoor wedding. We did a Celtic handfasting ceremony in tandem with a traditional, non-denominational ceremony. The wedding was absolutely gorgeous, and I cannot think of any way the site could have been more beautiful or perfect. The day was hot, the night was warm.
