RC Special Events
We rented 40 chairs and five 5 rounds from this rental company in Gunbarrel. I ordered everything over the phone 2 weeks before the event. Pick up went great, with no problems. Same with drop-off. Plus, since we were renting in the off-season, we got to keep everything for the entire weekend but was charged just a 1-day rate. They were the easiest vendor to work with throughout the entire wedding.

We had specifically requested white and milk chocolate-covered strawberries & oranges, and we even double-checked to confirm this the week of the wedding. However, they only delivered milk chocolate. At the brunch, they did not include tea and coffee service, as they were supposed. This is a big deal for brunch! When I sent an email after the event to inform the of these lapses, I never heard back. I would NOT recommend them based on these factors. The food is great, really, but the lack of response and follow-through on contract was really unprofessional.

Jen & Rich are fantastic! The photos are amazing, especially the bridal shots that were taken outdoors. They create such artistic shots, and theyre fun to work with. I did not even know they were there during the ceremony. They got some fantastic candid shots that really captured the moment my hubbys face when he first saw me, Grandmas tears at the reading, me & my mom looking like we actually like each other. I highly recommend them! I have so many photos to choose from!

I do not recommend them at all. Breckenridge Hospitality is a subsidiary of Vail Resorts and managed everything from our hotel rooms, wedding reception and rehearsal dinner. Our experience with them has been pretty horrible from beginning to end. The end result was OK. But the process was so completely frustrating that I would NOT recommend them, especially at Breckenridge. Ive heard that Vail Resorts at other hotels arent as bad. Overall, our main issue is with communication. We were told things initially that they refused then to support when it came up later. We had to do a lot of negotiating, which just left us feeling like we were being nickeled and dimed. This was frustrating as we were spending thousands of dollar at their business during the off-season, and they wouldnt budge on something that would end up being less than $100. When we first visited Mountain Thunder Lodge, we fell in love with the rooms. And we loved that they seemed so accommodating to us since we were getting married in the off-season. They told us that they wanted to be upfront about costs so thered be no surprises. They were great about getting back to us with answers to our questions, however minor. But once we signed the contract, we received poor customer service. They wouldnt return phone calls or emails. I would have to call repeatedly to get questions answered. And then we started to find out about extra costs -- $5 for chair covers, extra for colored linens, extra for set-up of chair covers, extra for renting cake-cutting utensils. We went in for a tasting, expecting it would be conducted by the head chef. Instead, we were surprised when we arrived and got the sous chef. Our contact person ended up leaving (I think she got fired). And thats when the real trouble started. The new contact person was a lot better at responding to questions and calls and emails. But Breckenridge Hospitality would not honor our original agreement with the previous contact person. We had an initial cost estimate based on our tasting, and they changed the prices on that. We had a list of available liquors, which they then told us was not available. We were extremely frustrated at having been told one thing only to get something else. And we were frustrated that these changes were likely due to the first person being incompetent, and we were being punished for it. Eventually, we worked out an agreement with Breckenridge Hospitality. But the entire process was infuriating, especially since we were basically filling up their hotel on a weekend when itd be empty. Also, the main disappointment was our food it was not the same as our tasting, was not as good as what we had during the tasting. Very disappointing. Service staff was not helpful in setting up. They did not get communication from the coordinator about what we needed for setup, and it took my matron of honor badgering them in order to get what we needed. And they werent responsive when my sis asked for something to wrap up some of the kids chicken nuggets for later (they were jet-lagged at the wedding). The appetizers were great, but that was pretty much it. Again, overall, the end result was fine. But the communication leading up to the wedding and then after the wedding has really left us frustrated. I would not recommend using them.

Overall, I liked my flowers, and I loved the price. I felt like I really got my moneys worth by using a florist thats only been in business for a year. Beth quoted me the best prices even better than the florists in Breckenridge. I met with Beth a couple of times and showed her photos of what I liked. We talked about specific flowers, and then she did the rest on her own. The end result was great! My absolute favorite was the bamboo plates she created for the ringbearers. They were just amazing! There a couple of things that werent quite what I envisioned or what we talked about willow baskets, boutenniere missing bamboo, rehearsal dinner pieces not as wide as wed like but overall, since flowers werent that important to me, I didnt care. Beth was also really great about breaking down the ceremony flowers to then set up again at the reception site. I would highly recommend her to anyone whos looking for value and to anyone who is just so-so on flowers. If you have a specific idea in mind for your flowers and you want to make sure it gets done exactly as you envision, I would be very clear and specific with Beth about it. Beth has great creativity and style, but isnt so good on the details. But, because shes a smaller venue, she didnt charge me an arm & a leg for the 1 gardenia I wanted for Grandma, and she threw in extra origami paper & coloring pencils for the rehearsal dinner. Again, use her if youre looking for value.

They sent 2 stylists to Breckenridge to do our hair and makeup. I did a couple of trial hair runs with Alyria beforehand ($50 each). My straight, Asian hair stayed curled all night long! She kept my half-up do with a few bobby pins, and it didnt hurt! I loved the look, and Alyria was really patient with me as I tried to decide on a style. Alyria also did my makeup. I didnt do a trial run beforehand. I never wear makeup, so I was nervous. But everyone said I looked great. In fact, the photographer even said that she did a great job on my makeup. In the end, there were 7 hairdos & 3 makeup. Everyone was happy with their hair & makeup. We were originally supposed to have 2 more hairdos for my nieces, but there wasnt enough time. It worked out; my bridesmaids worked on my nieces. But they get a lower mark for starting late and not being able to fit us all in, despite saying that they could. If I had to do it over again, I would have insisted on adding another stylist. Overall, they did an excellent job on my hair and makeup, and everyone else was really happy with their 'dos.

They were great! They had my bridesmaid try on different Alfred Angelo dresses in order to order the perfect size for her. Dress came in time and was perfect!
