Here is my Alvina Valenta from Peridress. I can't even explain how wonderful this company was. I read nightmare stories about them but I just couldn't pass up a deal. Everyone at the wedding was in love with my dress! My husband couldn't believe how gorgeous it looked. Even my seamstress who did minor alterations was very impressed witht he price and quality of the dress. Was it made as well as a true Alvina Valenta? Probably not. Would anyone notice the difference except for a seamstress? No. I felt like a million bucks in this dress and I had no guilt at all because I saved so much money on it. Heck, my shoes cost more than the dress!
Here's the original:
Here is my dress:
Here is the ring bearer pillow that I put together. I bought an ivory pillow at David's Bridal (needed something quick!) and then I went to Michaels and bought a starfish. I tied the starfish on and hot glued it underneath. Love it for our beach wedding!
Because I'm really the first of my friends to get married, I didn't even realize you are supposed to send out invitations for the rehearsal! So of course, I needed to get on this pronto. I wanted to order these ones: http://www.invitationconsultants.com/invitation.aspx?p_invitationitem=IN1719 but they were going to cost too much money and I needed them faster so I just used them as my inspiration.
I went to Staples and bought this scalloped paper and blue envelopes. Then I went to Michaels and bought some rhinestones and blue and white ribbon. When I got home, I scoured istockphoto.com for some cute graphics. I loved the cake and changed it to much the color scheme. Then I downloaded to free fonts I found online. Printed on my computer and voila! In the mail on the same day!!!! Yay! I make 40 for all under $40.
Brady and I met in the summer of 2003. We were both enrolled in an Oceanography class and became study buddies even though there was very little studying done! After a few years, we had our beautiful daughter, Summer. She is now 4 years old and we are finally getting married!
We are having our ceremony at Sunset Cliffs at Osprey Street in San Diego, CA. It is a park that faces the ocean. It is is very photographic and romantic. After the ceremony, we are going to have our reception at The Bristol Hotel in downtown San Diego. It is an older hotel that has been renovated in a very modern chic way. The ballroom has a retractable ceiling that opens up to the beautiful breeze of the San Diego oceans. The windows face the San Diego Harbor. It is gorgeous! As of right now, we are having approximately 90 guests.
Right now I have 2 dresses. I ordered this Casablanca dress after just being exhausted of dresses and on a time limit.
I had seen this dress by Alvina Valenta and wanted it so badly but it was $3500 and about $2000 outside of my budget. Plus, I had already purchased the Casablanca dress. Finally, I came upon a website called Peridress that could make a "replica" for $200. I decided to try it out because heck...it's only $200 more dollars and it might be my dream dress! I will update because I have read mixed reviews (mostly good) about the Peridress website. If it is bad, I always have the Casablanca dress!
By the way, the above picture is taken from a wedding that I absolutely love!!!! I want my wedding to look exactly like this (too bad I have to lose about 10 more pounds to look like the girl in the photos!). This is a website with their wedding images:
Here are images of one of my bridesmaids in a Coren Moore- Jillian Style dress in grape.

Here is a picture of the reception site. This is someone elses wedding. Our color scheme will be magenta, purple, and lime green:
Recently my mom just took some engagement photos of us. We are creating a photobook through iphoto to use for our guestbook. The book will be filled with our engagement photos and blank pages for our guests to write on.
Here is some makeup inspiration that I am going to use on my wedding day. I like the eyes on the first picture and the lips of the second picture:
Here is some jewelery I am considering:
