The Engagement June 14 2008 photo 1

We took a weekend trip to celebrate our 2 year Anniversary in downtown San Diego. We had such a fun time there exploring the city! On our second day there, Kyle told me that he had made dinner reservations at a nice restaurant to celebrate our Anniversary. I assumed we were just going to dinner in a cab from the hotel, we arrived to the lobby to catch our ride when it was time to leave and to my surprise... Kyle had a beautiful black Mercedez Benz with a chauffeur to take us to the restaurant. Up until that point, I really thought that he hadn't made any plans like most guys do (in my mind I thought he was just going to take me to TGIFridays or something, nothing special haha), he really shocked me starting with our fancy ride! Our Chauffeur drover us to a beautiful area in the Cornado Harbor that looked like it was a hotel. I assumed when our driver dropped us off there that we would be having dinner there. When we got out of the car, Kyle began to lead me away from the hotel and completely threw me off once again.

We arrived at our final destination and it immediately brought a huge smile to my face! He took me on board a romantic Gondola Ride in the harbor and it was the most romantic time for us, we road around in the gondola and took in the incredible view of the water and sunset. I remember looking up at the sky and telling Kyle "God created such beautiful view and I am so glad we get to enjoy it together, there is no where I would rather be than here with you!" his eyes lit up and he had the biggest smile on his face.

Half way through our gondola ride, we made a sharp turn... Kyle reached behind his seat for his back pack and said "I am cold, I am going to put my sweater on". He put his sweater on and then looked at me and said "Lauren, I love you so much", I responded by saying very casually "I love you too honey". He then proceeded to get down on one knee and said "I love you so much... that I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?" Lauren continued to say "are you serious?" "are you serious?"... "you mean, you want me to be your wife?" Kyle laughed and said "yes I am serious, I want you to be my wife!" and Lauren exclaimed "Of course! Yes, I will marry you!" It was the happiest moment in my life, I couldn't stop smiling!
