The Church photo 1

The ceremony is going to be at 5:30 with the cocktail hour starting at 6:45 and dinner at 8:00. We were going to do the ceremony at 5 but being we are getting married on a Friday my FI wanted to push it back half an hour to accomodate the guests that have to work until 5.

Well, as of right now we have a lot to do still. We have had the changed the date once again to accomodate a large enough place for the reception and my priest's vacation. So now it is set in stone that we are getting married on Friday, July 2, 2010. I am extremely excited to get married on July 4th weekend because that is one of my favorite holidays. We know that the colors are black and white with accents of red. I am going for a formal/elegant theme.

Things that still need to be done:

  • church
  • reception venue
  • DJ
  • Cake
  • Photographer
  • Florist
  • Playlist for DJ

Things that are going to be DIY:

  • Programs
  • I am going to attempt to make my card box
  • I LOVE the ribbon pomanders so I am going to try those too
  • We aren't doing favors, instead we are donating to charity so I have to make the table tents that show that

My FI and I have a very strange relationship. We have been dating for 3 years in December. We met through a co-worker of mine (I was actually her boss lol) and it took her 2-3 months for me to finally agree to meet him. I thought no way was I going to have a relationship with someone who was 3.5 years younger than me. Well, how stupid I was. We met and hit it off immediately and started dating a couple of days after meeting each other. I was going to school, trying to finish up my Education degree and working 30 hours a week along with student teaching so it was a very trying time for us but we made it. The day of my college graduation we had a BBQ at my house with my family and his mom and sister. I opened my gifts and he had one more for me. And he had the ring in his hand and proposed to me in front of my family and his mom and sister. Fast forward 2 years...we have since broken up and gotten back together and things couldn’t be better. We are both so excited and ready to get married. At least once a week FI asks me if we can just go to the JP and get married (he doesn’t want to wait until July).

planning a wedding

Well, I am completely new to this site but I find myself on it any chance I get! I love reading all the forums and getting great ideas from all the fellow members. It's funny how I feel like we are all friends on here even though I have never met a single person from here in person. I love it!
