I love my photographs and I loved the photographer. My main disappointment was due to budget constraints. While I got a very good photographer, I could only afford about four hours of her time. And the deal was that instead of a photo book or actual pictures, I would get the disk with the proofs on it. The only bad thing about that was that nothing was touched up. So I'm having to do it all myself. Which in one sense is fun and in another sense is completely time consuming. There's 438 pictures!!
The good thing is that I can print as many pictures as I want in whatever sizes I want. And I can pass them out to family and friends!
I was married in Seattle (issaquah) on April 12th. It was the ONLY sunny day the entire month. It was 70 degrees!! Every other day in the month was below 60 and rainy!! God definitely blessed us!
Everything went wonderfully besides a scare when a groomsmen lost his pants... he found them under the couch, thankfully.
It was so perfect and the only weird thing was the cake, which was nothing like the picture I had given them but at that point I didn't care about anything except being a wife!
My photographer was so helpful and acted as a quasi wedding coordinator. I was so happy the church provided a wedding coordinator as well. Even if it was her first wedding she did far more than I can possibly thank her for. Plus I'm the perfect person for that sort of thing because I didn't really care about the details. I told her to do whatever she thought was best and she did an amazing job.
Now I live with a man. It's funny how it was strange and yet not strange at all. Being around your best friend all the time is SO fun! Sometimes I catch myself being a little unbelieving that it has all happened!
I had to have a going away dress. And it had to be along Jackie O. lines. I'm pretty happy with my choice.
My FIL's are having an "after-party" after the reception at their house and there was no way that I was going to be traipsing around their house, dogs, etc in a big foofy dress. So I got this at Nordstrom's. Then got it altered (yay, free alterations at Nordy's!) and it fits like a glove.
I got the idea from looking at my mother's wedding pictures (33 years of wedded bliss) and seeing her in her robin's egg blue totallly 70's outfit.
This was the hardest part for me. I had to not only decide what I wanted to play but on what I wanted it played.
I decided on Pre-ceremony music on the pipe organ of mostly hymns, since I am so traditional. Amazing Grace, Blessed Assurance, Great is Thy Faithfulness... that sort of thing.
For the seating of the parents and grandparents-Ave Maria on the organ
Bridesmaids procession-Unchained Melodies on piano and flute
Bride-Mendelssohn's Wedding March on pipe organ
Communion-Pachelbel's Canon in D on pipe organ and flute
After exchange of rings- Annie's Song by John Denver (my mom sang it at her wedding so it's my something borrowed) on the piano and flute
Recessional- Lorie Line's arrangement of Beethoven's Ode to Joy (Joyful, Joyful)http://youtube.com/watch?v=oao4BMN0M-E&feature=related on piano.
So, I totally lucked out! I have a friend whom I work with who used to be a florist. She is going to do all my flowers. Altar arrangements, 2 pillar bouquets, flowers for my cake, handtied brides bouquet and three hand tied BM bouquets, six bouts, 10 corsages, three table arrangements, a toss bouquet and a pomander for the flower girl all for four hundred dollars!! That's around $1200 worth of goodies!! It's all roses in different shades of pink, too. Plus stephanotis with crystals for my bouquet. I can't believe how blessed I am!! Now I need to think of an awesome way to thank her for all her work.
Yay! The invitations have started arriving and now I'm getting phone calls and emails of congratulations and asking where I'm registered and aren't I happy, etc, etc. I don't know why I am so surprised. I think that I forgot about the part where the recipients actually get them because I've been stressing out over making them, having the printing guy redo them, addressing, stamping, mailing, organizing, forgetting and then adding the directions inside, and a million other things. Yay! It's done! It's really happening! And I have only 39 days to get all the other stuff done!! I'm really getting excited!
