Kate Baker Floral Design
My husband and I met Kate at a local Bridal Show more than 8 months before our wedding. She was unlike the other florists there because she wasn't at all pushy. She let us look through her photo albums and every time we had a question about a photo she was so kind and helpful. We knew that our floral budget would be small but that we were going to have a lot of tables and a lot of guests. Some of the other florists I'd interviewed had told me that what I wanted was out of reach for the amount I had to spend. One florist even suggested that I attempt to DIY since my budget was so small. Kate assured us that she would work with us and show us some options. So we took her card and decided to research her further. So I posted asking if anyone had experience with Kate. One poster responded to my post that she had an awful experience with Kate and that she did not recommend her. After listening to the posters experience and reading her review I decided to confront Kate about what I had heard. I was very dissapointed to hear such a review because I had been so hopeful to use Kate for our wedding. She just seemed like the perfect fit for us! So instead of crossing Kate off my list just because one person had a bad experience, I decided it would only be fair to hear both sides of the story and decide for myself. I am SO glad I did! When I asked Kate about what I had heard, she described her experience to me. She told me openly and honestly how she felt about it. She was clearly saddened and frustrated by the whole experience. While there was obviously a mix-up between her & her previous client, Kate felt that it was unfair that because of one clients story her reputation had been so badly damaged. Kate explained that she takes pride in her work and in the way that she operates her business and that the things that happened between her & the previous client would not ever happen with any of her prospective clients. After even further research and veiwing the sample centerpieces Kate made for us, we decided to hire Kate. Kate was one of my favorite vendors. She is one of the sweetest, most cheerful women I think I've ever met and is a pleasure to work with. There were many bumps for me along the road of wedding planning & Kate was always willing to work with me when I needed to revise something, or needed an opinion on how things should look. The reason she is given an A+ instead of just an A is because she went above & beyond my expectations, taking & setting up my votives for me, decorating with ribbon & petals that I had not bought from her, going out of her way to make sure that everyone had their bouquets/bouts/coursages on my wedding day, and creating an absolutely beautiful display of flowers for me that I could have never imagined would be as extravagant as they were for the budget I had. Kate really made my dreams come true. I hope that any brides researching Kate will meet with her, give her the opportunity to show you her work & to show you what an amazing & trustworthy vendor she can be! I highly recommend Kate Baker to any bride looking for a charming & extremely talented florist.

Although I haven't actually purchased a gown at Pebbles Bridal (in Woodland Hills) I have been in the store to look for and try on gowns several times. Every time I'm in the store they're helpful & curtious. I've always delt with Monica, who IMO, is the nicer of the two sisters. I highly recommend them for a first time bridal store visit.

I'll be married at the Malibu Lake Mountain Club in Agoura Hills on March 24, 2007. I have been working with Roxy from Truly Yours Catering who also coordinates events for this location. This is the one and only location my Fiance and I ever looked at. It's perfect for us in so many ways. The beautiful sprawling lawn overlooking the lake is a perfect setting for the outdoor ceremony. The reception room is beautiful with the fireplace & bay window. So far Roxy has been a pleasure to work with, she answers your e-mails / calls promptly & is very good about getting an answer to any of your questions. I would have to say that the most prominant feature of this location, is in fact the location. It's nestled in the hills and requires a beautiful, scenic route to arrive there. By the time you reach the Lake Club, you'll forget that LA is only 15 minutes away!

I ordered our Wedding Invitations, RSVP Cards, and Direction/Map cards from www.invitesite.com. They're customer service is wonderful. I called several times with questions before I placed my order and they were always very helpful. They have beautiful unique invitations at a reasonable price. We needed our invitations in a hurry and they were kind enough to let us pick them up. After we placed our order, the DIY kits were ready to be picked up the next day! Our kits were exactly as ordered, they threw in plenty of extra paper & supplies. Our invitations came out beautiufully. They receive an A+ instead of an A because they went above & beyond my expectations by making sure our order was ready in a rush at no additional charge and by walking me through step by step printing instructions when I ran into a slight problem with my printer. I would highly recommend www.invitesite.com for any bride looking for unique DIY invitation kits at a reasonable price.

Jenny Rosenberg, a professional make-up artist was able to work her magic for me on my wedding day. I had always known I wanted to have Jenny do my make-up from the day I met her. She has an amazing personality that right away makes you feel comfortable with her. I met Jenny at her home for a make-up trial. She used an air-brush technique that gave me movie-star results, flawless! She really got my vision and was able to use the perfect colors to create a dramatic yet natural feel for me. I highly recommend Jenny for anyone looking for an affordable and extremely talented make-up artist! CONTACT: Jenny@jenrosenberg.com www.jenrosenberg.com

A+ HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Stephan Merriam is a reverend in Los Angeles. He performs wedding ceremonies of ALL religions & will travel in the greater Los Angeles area. He is affordable and extremely easing going, allowing you to write your own ceremony if you'd like, as I did! My husband and I wanted a non-religous ceremony, one that was unique and fitting to us. It was important to me that we have an officiant who would let us create the ceremony we wanted. Stephan Merriam is a very kind reverend, he's very professional in his work & is open minded to anything you'd like to incorporate in your wedding, wether it's 100% traditional or 100% unique. Stephan receives an A+ instead of an A because he went above & beyond my expectations by performing a flawless ceremony for us and presenting us with a keepsake book of our ceremony & vows. He took care of our marriage license for us and made the process smooth & simple! I Highly Recommend Stephan Merriam to any Bride looking for a kind, professional reverend to perform any style ceremony you'd like.

Romano's Jewelers (Glendale)
A+ HIGHLY RECOMMEND My Husband purchased my engagement ring from Romanos Jewelers in the Glendale Mall. He received an excellent deal and great customer service. When I wanted to have my diamond placed in a different setting, they made the process very smooth and simple. We decided to also purchase our wedding bands from them because we'd had such a pleasant experience in the past. Again the deal was great & the service was phenomenal. We also had our bands engraved and they came out perfectly. We've returned several times for cleaning & to purchase other items. The reason Romano's gets an A+ instead of an A is because they went above & beyond my expectations. The employees there know you by name and make you feel comfortable on both a personal and professional level. They are always accomadating wether you're purchasing or just looking. They are not pushy and deliver excellent service. I Highly recommend Romano's Jewelers to any Bride looking for gorgeous jewelery (especially wedding bands) at a reasonable price with great customer service!

Save the Date Originals
When it came to our Save The Dates, I really did my research. I knew that I wanted a photo magnet, but was unsure about the designs. I'd seen a few that I'd liked online, but I never found anything that really hit me. I contacted a few major companies online, only to get very limited correspondance, and sometimes, no replies at all. When I came across Angela's site, www.savethedateoriginals.com, I found a wide variety of styles and a list of pricing that seemed much more reasonable than the other companies. Angela helped me design the perfect magnet, she was so great to work with, communicating entirely by e-mail, she got the job done in great time and with an outstanding price. I highly recommend her.

Truly Yours catered my March 24th wedding at Malibou Lake Mountain Club. They worked with us for over a year on our menu, beverage options & linens. Roxy was there to guide us every step of the way. She was always pleasant no matter what we were discussing, she even helped us to save money a few times. Although I never actually met Chris, he did make the food for our tasting & I hear that he's also very pleasant to work with. I would highly recommend Truly Yours Catering to anyone looking for a fantastic catering company.

Although I wanted to rent from Mens Warehouse, my husband insisted on renting from After Hours since their colors match my girls Davids Bridal dresses. I was very nervous since they do not have the cleanest reputation. I went in with my husband to look at some styles for the groomsmen & himself. The employees were pleasant and helped us find the styles we found suitable. I was dissapointed that they wanted to charge me a full adults price for a 5 year olds tuxedo - I think that's a crazy rip-off! I was also dissapointed that they expect the tuxes to be turned in the day after the wedding! Although my husband was made aware of this before hand, there was no way we could make it in to their store before they closed on Sunday and we ended up paying late fees. Overall they get a B, which I figured they would get anyway. I recommend After Hours (Studio City) to any bride looking to rent a tuxedo at a reasonable price.

We hired Enrique Martinez from DJs To Go for our March 24th wedding. We originally spoke with Tim Benter, the owner of DJs To Go to help us find the perfect DJ for us. We agreed that we needed a Bi-lingual DJ, and Tim set up an interview for us with Enrique. We met Enrique and instantly felt great about hiring him. His appearance was very professional, both on the day of our meeting, and of course at our wedding. He's an all around nice guy and has a great way of making you feel secure about the choices you make for your wedding music. On the night of our wedding Enrique was right on target, playing all the songs we'd requested and making sure that our guests were having a great time. I highly recommend Enrique Martinez from DJs To Go to any bride looking for an easy going, fun, and professional DJ at an affordable price!

We went for our cake tasting with Rosie at Helena Wirths, she was very helpful and had lots of pictures for us to look at. However, I already had my dream cake in mind. When I showed her the picture of what I wanted she assured me it would be done. We tasted the four flavors of cake, and loved them all! Thus, we're having a different flavor of each tier! I also liked their cake so much, I ordered a cake for a bridal shower from them & it was perfect. So far my experience has been nothing but pleasant, and I very much look forward to our wedding cake. I highly Helena Wirth made the cake for our March 24th wedding. We met with them on three different occasions. The first was for our cake tasting at which time we decided to book them. They seemed to get the vision I was trying to portray and agreed to making a cake like the picture I brought in for them. Not to mention the cake was delicious! The second meeting was when we went in to pay our balance with them. This time the woman we initially met with was no longer with the company. The new gentleman seemed a bit unsure of some of the details, such as delivery time & coloring of the frosting. This concerned me, but he reassured me that they had everything on record and that it would be fine. I decided to stop in the bakery the morning before the wedding to see the frosting color. It was exactly as I had requested and I felt satisfied. On the morning of my wedding I received a call from my boss at work. He said that he had just received a call from Helena Wirth asking for the address to deliver the cake. Apparently they did not know which number to call and thought they'd give the work # I'd listed a try. Very un-professional. This infuriated me. I had gone over the details with them before and felt that it was their responsibility to have all their information prepared before the day of the wedding! When I called them at 11:00AM to give them the Address AND directions to the location I then asked when they would be delivering the cake. He said they were on their way. This upset me further since they were made aware that no vendors would be allowed on the premises before 2:00, and I'd asked them to deliver the cake at 3PM. My coordinator informed me that they still showed up early and had to wait outside the gates for our location to open. When I saw the cake however, all my frustration towards them was demolished. This was the most beautiful cake I'd ever seen. It was exactly what I wanted, I couldn't find a single error if I'd tried. It tasted just as amazing as I'd remembered and our guests raved about it. It was actually one of my favorite elements to our wedding. So a B+ suits them well. I recommend Helena Wirth Bakery with the suggestion that you triple check your information with them! recommend them.
