Although I would have LOVED to get custom designed letterpress invitations from someplace like Bella Figura, $1000+ for 50 invites and response cards just wasn't in the budget.  I looked at all of the major online invitation companies like Wedding Paper Divas, My Gatsby, etc., but they just didn't have quite what we were looking for.

So... I decided to do them myself.  The total cost came to be about $4 per invite.

Pocketfolds, invitation mats, envelopes, and insert cards were from Cards and Pockets

The actual invitation paper and rubber palm tree and "L" stamps were from Paper Source. I also had to buy ink for the stamps, embossing powder, and an embossing heat tool.

I did the printing myself on a photo printer we got for FREE last year with the purchase of FI's laptop.  This was the first time that printer has been used since we bought the laptop over a year ago.

Here is the end result:

Closed invite, 5" x 7":

And here is the open invite (the edges got cut off a bit while scanning):

I'm in love with our wedding "venue." Its a private estate where us, our bridal party, and our immediate families will be staying for 4 days.  In addition to providing lodging for about 22 people, the two houses will also be the location for all of our wedding activities including our rehearsal dinner, a welcome reception, the wedding ceremony, and the wedding reception.  When we first started planning, I couldn't justify spending our entire budget on 5 hours of celebration in a hotel, country club, or fancy restaurant.  By having a destination wedding here, we have 4 days to celebrate with our families and friends!
