                                              wedding countdown

Let me introduce myself, I am Louise, a primary school teacher from near London, UK. I am marrying my other half, Kevin, in July next year (24.7.10).

We got engaged in Thailand this Summer (16.8.09) whilst we were away on a beautiful island in a gorgeous, secluded resort. It was amazing.

We have been together for 2 and a half year nearly and live together with my two pedigree cats. We met on an internet dating site... never thought that would happen! However we met and just clicked, after months of talking.

I  like to spend time with friends and family in the spare time that I get, which is even more rare now that we (I!) am arranging a wedding.

Our wedding theme is fuschia and silver, and this website is fab because it has given me so much inspiration. So thanks to everyone who has posted photos. I will endeavour to do so after our wedding. My friends keep asking about the wedding, it's theme etc but I am keeping quiet for the moment, until they receive their invites and then that will give the colours away.

Here are some of the items we have sourced so far for our butterfly themed, fuschia and silver wedding:

Hello and welcome photo 3 Ribbon for our cake

These are our bridesmaid dresses: they will be in cerise taffeta though (it's the dress on the left of the two).

I am thinking of these pretty gerberas/roses for the bm's... not sure about mine yet though.

Hello and welcome photo 6These are our placecards but we have had them personalised with added printed tags. We are not having them on glasses though, I have cerise ribbon to bind them over the napkins. We are having sparkly hot pink for the ladies, and silver for the men.

Hello and welcome photo 7Our invitations. I handmade them all. Three days worth of work but worth every minute as I love them! www.pureinvitation.co.uk for the main parts and then I sourced the ribbon etc from Ebay.

Hello and welcome photo 9 This is my engagement ring -it is a little too sparkly to photograph well. It has a 0.8 carat round diamond in the centre and 3 round cut diamonds either side - 0.5 carat total.

It is so pretty, I am just disappointed that I can't show anyone it properly.

Hello and welcome photo 11 I am wondering about something like this for my bouquet but possibly in the same colours as the bridesmaids - deeper pink and cream roses. I like this shape for my dress, I think.

Here's hoping that everyone's plans are going well.
