Day of Details
After much thought and planning, we've changed our centerpieces yet again. We went from all candles, to some candles and some mansanita trees, to some candles, some manzanita trees and some flowers. So this idea came to me after seeing all of our ideas on a page. Well, this centerpiece combines all of them and gives the rustic yet romantic feel we are going for.
The base of the bowl will be surrounded by stones and votive candles.
This was not the first dress I fell in love with. But after having it pinned on me, I thought that was it, this is the dress. But after not seeing it for about six months, I had to fall in love all over again.
Here's me in her.
And here are my shoes!
Final Day of Look (with my husband)
After a lot of thought, we have finally pinned down an officiant and our ceremony wording...
Friends, we have been invited here today to share with Andrew and Geri a very important moment in their lives. In the years they have been together, their love and understanding of each other has grown and matured, and now they have decided to live their lives together as husband and wife. If any person can show just cause why they may not be joined together –speak now or forever hold your peace.
An excerpt from "A Farewell to Arms" by Ernest Hemingway
At night, there was the feeling that we had come home, feeling no longer alone, waking in the night to find the other one there, and not gone away; all other things were unreal. We slept when we were tired and if we woke the other one woke too so one was not alone. Often a man wishes to be alone and a woman wishes to be alone too and if they love each other they are jealous of that in each other, but I can truly say we never felt that. We could feel alone when we were together, alone against the others. We were never lonely and never afraid when we were together.
Definition of Marriage
I, (name), take you, (name), to be my (husband/wife), loving what I know of you, and trusting what I do not yet know. I promise to love you in good times and in bad, when life seems easy and when it seems hard, when our love is simple, and when it is an effort. These things I give to you today, and all the days of our life.
Exchanging of the Rings
This ring I give to you as a token of my love and devotion to you. I pledge to you all that I am and all that I will ever be as your (husband/wife). With this ring, I gladly marry you and join my life to yours.
Excerpts from Beethoven's Third Immortal Beloved Letter
Though still in bed, my thoughts go out to you, my Immortal Beloved, now and then joyfully, then sadly, waiting to learn whether or not fate will hear us - I can live only wholly with you or not at all; No one else can ever possess my heart;Your love makes me at once the happiest and the unhappiest of men Be calm, only by a calm consideration of our existence can we achieve our purpose to live together - Be calm - love me - today - yesterday - what tearful longings for you - you - you - my life - my all - farewell. Oh continue to love me - never misjudge the most faithful heart of your beloved. Ever thine, Ever Mine, Ever ours.
