We had a lot of family over for a casual visit and dinner.  It was very relaxing and we were just having a really nice time.  We were all enjoying everyone’s company.  Apparently, Peter got my mom and dad alone and asked for their permission and blessing.  He said they were all for it, very supportive and happy about the news.  Then if you know Peter you know he can't ever wait for anything or keep any secrets.  He loves to share news right away.  That is how I think getting proposed to happened already.  I don't think that was the intent of the day.  After dinner and right before everyone was wrapping things up and getting ready to head home Peter started this speech.  Honestly, all I remember was something about this being the perfect opportunity because everyone we love is together...then it's all a blur...then Amanda will you marry me?  I was absolutely speechless and couldn't even say yes.  We just started hugging and gave each other a kiss.  I started crying like crazy because I was so happy.  Somewhere in there I did get a yes, I'll marry you in.  Then everyone was hugging everyone and both our moms were crying!!  I was so happy and at that moment in time I felt like nothing could have gone wrong.
It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.

Peter and I met at work in November of 2005.  We became fast friends and could always talk to each other about anything!  I went to him for a lot of advise as did Peter with me.  Our jobs at the time were different than now.  We both worked at the airport as agents.  It was pretty stressful and we were able to vent to each other about it!

Thru the next two years Peter and I grew a lot closer and remained friends, in fact we became best friends.  I always felt we shared a special bond that I hadn't experienced before with anyone.

We've been thru so much since that day in 2005.  It's amazing to look back and think about the good times, the not so good times, the easy stuff, and the hard stuff we've dealt with.  In April of 2007 we started dating.  I don't even know how it happened.  One day we were having dinner after work, as friends, and all I remember is Peter leaning over and kissing me.  It was almost a- hey, what the heck did you do that for?!?  I got lightheaded and woozy and had never felt anything so perfect in my life.  It was at that point that I knew I loved Peter and would spend the rest of my life with him.  I knew how amazing he was as a friend and so becoming more was never scary or did I have any doubts.  We just click.

This is why we are both so sure about our marriage and know that we'll be a couple that makes it.  We're strong, stubborn, successful, and loving in our relationship.  Becoming husband and wife is just going to make us that much closer!  I'm going to marry my best friend!

Welcome!

We're engaged and neither of us has ever been happier!  YEAH!

We decided on a destination wedding for many reasons.  Peter and I love to travel.  We wanted to do something a little out of the norm.  Mostly we wanted to be low key and laid back.  Almost immediately after the engagement Peter suggested Maui.  I was all for it and we haven't looked back!  It should turn out to be a wonderful party and fun vacation for all of our guests!!!
