I bought this from another bride who had it custom made but forgot to put it on after the wedding. It's brand new and has never been worn. It's a 100% handmade feather, tulle, & silk flower accented with a vintage rhinestone center. It is ivory in color. The flower measures approximately 3 3/4 inches in diameter at its widest.  It's in EXCELLENT condition! She originally paid $55.

I have collected so many amazing 'must take pictures' but these are some of my favorites.  Below I've added a must take photo list.  I did not create the list but I cannot remember where I found it.

The Venue

Our reception is also taking place in Litchfield.  Here is a picture I found on the website.  It isn't much to look at now, but with the right touches, it will be perfect!   Picture

Reception Decor

Below are some of the inspirations I love for our wedding day look.

Photo Booth and Guest Book

I'm so excited that we officially booked a photo booth for our wedding!  I have been toying with the idea ever since we got engaged but could never find one that fit into the budget.  After some tweaking and a very generous MIL, we are going to have a photo booth!! I think this will be another element that will be fun and memorable for the guests!
Picture
Picture
Here are some fun props that I bought from another bride!
Picture
For our guestobook, I want to use a plain scrapbook and paste the photobooth pictures onto the pages. The guests can then leave us a message by their picture! I know it will be hilarious to look through down the road.
Picture
Hopefully the guest book will turn out something like this..

Centerpiece and Table Inspirations

There have been many different styles of centerpieces I've been attracted to.  However, in the end these are the most practical and closest to what we will have at our reception.
Picture
I really like the idea of having a heritage table with pictures of family members' wedding pictures. After all, it's a celebration of love, so why not honor the important people in our lives and have them share a part of their wedding day with us!
Picture
I have seen some couples put these pictures on the cake table, on the guest book table and also on the present table. I'm not sure where they'll go yet.
Picture
This is our card box that was purchased from another bride. I plan on painting it cream.
Picture
This is the inspiration for one of the centerpieces. My extremely talented mother is recreating these mirrored mosaic vases! We will have votive candles and holders surrounding them like in the pic.
Picture
These will be placed along the table with pictures of Jake & I throughout our 7 years together. I found these at dollar tree!
Picture
I also found square vases at dollar tree. I plan on floating 1-2 flowers in each. We will also have acrylic ice scattered across the table and several votive candles on the table as well. The flowers inside the vases will be a mixture of creams and soft pinks.
Picture
If we decide to do a third centerpiece, it will probably be some variation of this. We have 288 votive candles and holders so every table will be filled with candles! This centerpiece looks really easy and budget friendly!
Picture
We bought silk fabric from Beijing and my aforementioned talented mother will hem them into table runners! I'd be lost without her!

Lighting

I love how simple uplighting can dramatically transform the appearance and feeling of a space.  The community center we are having our reception at has been used at almost every wedding I've been to.  I really want it to look different and plan on using 10-12 uplights to give it a new wash of color.  I think it will be something fun and exciting for our guests and that is what Jake and I care about most (besides us starting a new life together of course)!
Picture
Ideally I would like to transform the venue space into something like this...but I think the best we can do is some uplighting around the room to give the venue a different wash of color.
Picture
This venue looks pretty dull too but with the uplights it looks great! We won't be using even half as many as they have here but it still makes a difference.

Food and Drinks

Picture
I love this cake! It has a bit of bling but is really romantic too! Our cake will be cream and have pink or purple ribbon instead.
Picture
I'm currently looking for rhinestone brooches like this one to add some bling to the cake and bouquet stems.
Picture
I like the look of a simple cake topper with our newly shared last initial
Picture
I want to get a Cubs cake for Jake for our rehearsal dinner! I might try to DIY this or have it in the shape of a C instead.
Picture
I want to have containers like these filled with grape/strawberry koolaid for the kids
Picture
I love the idea of having a signature drink in our colors

Misc. Fun Stuff!

Picture
We will have an ice sculpture luge at our reception. I haven't found a design I love yet, but we'll probably do a fancy 'F'
Picture
We'd like to have a cotton candy machine for the kids (and adults too) but I think instead we will buy a few buckets and put them on the kids table so they can have enough energy to dance all night long :-)
Picture
We are giving chopsticks away as favors since Jake and I are teaching in China this year. My mom mentioned also giving away fortune cookies with a thank you message inside. I found a template to make them but I'm not sure if we'll get around to it.
Picture
This is definitely not necessary but it is a cute idea depending on time/how stressed I am over the budget. Photo by thecheshirekat
Picture
We want to have a kids only table and these are some possible goodies!
Picture
Picture
We will have a Ford Excursion Superstretch Limo to transport the wedding party!

Our ceremony will take place in Litchfield, IL.  We plan on keeping the ceremony decorations relatively simple.  I am going to try to find an aisle runner. At the alter I am going to see what it will look like to have two manzanita trees with flowers and crystals.  I thought about scattering rose petals along the aisle or putting pillar candles in vases along the aisle.  I also liked the idea of using a larger ribbon to make bows to attach to the pews.

Ceremony Inspiration

Below are some of the ideas we liked for our ceremony.

Bridesmaids' Dresses

The bridesmaids dresses are David's Bridal style 83312 in 'Lapis'.
I bought jewelry for the bridesmaids at a pearl market in Beijing but they will be able to choose shoes of their choice in hopes they can wear them again.  I also want them to choose a hairstyle that they like so they don't feel like they are identical to all the other bridesmaids.  I'll try to get pics up of the jewelry soon.
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
This is a terrible picture but it is the only one I have of the bridesmaid jewelry I bought for the girls in Beijing. The pearls are soft pink and the matching earrings tie in the eggplant color. I can't wait to see what it looks like with the dresses!

The Dress

I bought my dress before Jake and I left to teach overseas.  I love my dress.  It is Casablanca style 1886.  It is very figure flattering and a classic beauty.  The color in the pictures below looks really funky because the flash setting was messed up.  Don't mind the cheesy poses/smiles.
Picture

Accessories

I haven't bought my veil, jewelry or shoes yet, which is probably a good thing seeing as how frequently I change my mind!  But these are some of the looks I really like right now.
Picture
I want a simple two tiered elbow length veil.
Picture
I love the coordinated bling!
Picture
This is the headband I was in love with before we left but I am worried that the rhinestones are oddly shaped.
Picture
So this is an alternative option.
Picture
Or this one...
Picture
Picture
Picture
I love these heels but I also like the idea of wearing colored heels too!
Picture
Picture
Picture
After looking online I saw a ton of really cute hair fascinators I loved. I bought this one from another bride. I'm not sure if I'll go the headband or flower route yet. I have to wait until I'm home to try it on with the dress.

Groom and Groomsman Tuxes

We haven't really looked at tuxes yet.  That is one of the first things we'll do when we get back.  All we know is that Jake likes the look of the classic black tux.  And neither of us like the penguin suit that hangs down past the guys' butts. lol But this decision is completely up to Jake and the guys :-) I imagine it will be something like the following, just in our colors (probably a black tux with cream undershirt and eggplant tie).

When I started looking at hairstyles, I envisioned a half up, half down do with loads of volume, but I couldn't find a picture anywhere!  Now all of a sudden I am finding them everywhere!  These are some of my favorite hairstyles for the big day!

From the pics below it's pretty clear what I want my hair to look like...we'll just have to see if it cooperates!
