Bob Marino (Lighting)

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
Bob is a total pro, and does a lot of theater lighting, actually. He hooked us up with a follow spot for our first dance, gobos, and other ambience lighting. He is friendly, smart, and very reasonably priced. He's also a friend of mine, so tell him I sent you. -Lisa

Norris Center Pavilion

The rental fee was $2K when I got married. There really weren't hidden charges ($300 for the dance floor was a little weird). I brought in my own catering, as you can select from a list. You can pay $500 more and bring in a non-preferred caterer too. Take advantage of the lighting grid! This MADE my party look gorgeous. Hire 1 or 2 designers to run lighting during the reception - it's worth it.

NESTA steel drum band

( 5.0 / 5.0 )
They played as a trio for my ceremony and as a quintet for my reception. Everything went exactly as planned and discussed before the big day. For the ceremony, they played classical music (Canon in D, Bach chorales), which was just gorgeous. I had an indoor ceremony since it was December, and geez, the music just sounded so full and beautiful. For the reception, the band used a couple of the steel drums, with guitar, keyboard, and drumset. The music selection was more Caribbean, latin, and jazz. The singer was great and also played the steel drums. MC'ing was nice and not cheesy. Just a great band altogether, who kept the party moving! Booking was a snap as Abby was very responsive and helpful. -Lisa
